How's everyone making out in BC? I should be 65 early tomorrow. I'd probably be about 66 by now but I've been jerking around more than I should. Just switched professions so I've been running around the lowbie zones getting my skills up. I also spent a lot of time doing the 3 towers PvP thing in Hellfire so I could get honor tokens. If not for those 2 distractions I'd definately be a few levels higher at this point.
It's also interesting that 70's are becoming more common. Now the game is such that you need to remember to look up a lot to make sure there's not an enemy above you. A few days ago I was questing in Terokkar and saw a hordie up in a tree above this one beast you need to kill for a quest. He was clearly waiting to pounch on whoever came by. After I waved to him I guess he figured his hiding spot was no good anymore so he jumped on his flying mount and soared off.
Can't wait to get me one of those things.

I'm still a lowly 20, so I can't go through the portal. Oh, well! I did give a Dranei, Drano, Squido or whatever they're called a try on my husband's server and have 2 BElfs on Twisting Nether.
I'm taking a long time leveling with my main because I spend too much time socializing! I also just joined a high-RP guild (thank, Nina!) and between the rp channel and my guild channel, sometimes I forget that I'm supposed to be questing!
What professions do you have? I'm a tailor and a skinner. Love skinning humanoids!
For the Horde! Hail Sylvanas!

I'm still 62 due to my recent revelation on computer anxiety. I'll be lvling a bit more tonight in Draenor, and doing a Molten Core run on Saturday afternoon.
Also, those flying mounts cost a TREMENDOUS ammount of gold. All the farming you need to do to get one is.. disgusting.
And yes, the RP can become.. overwhelming! I'm so glad you're having fun with Infection!!

Um...unless they changed something you can't skin humanoids.
I was a skinner/miner. Just a gatherer. But I decided my main expense now is healing potions (which the alchemists in my guild can never be bothered to make) so I dumped those 2 (I had 390 skinning :wah: ) and picked up herbalism and alchemy. This way I can make my own healing pots and sell extras on the AH for some serious gold (have you seen how much the new super-healing pots go for?!?!?!).
And yeah Dona...5000g for the epic flyer huh? One more reason to keep expenses down and try to make some dough on the AH. 8-)

Hubby and I went on vacation for 8 days (Jan 20th - 28th) and the smart man took this week off as well. So he has two-boxed us up to 66 and 65. Hopefully we will hit 68 before Monday. We need to power up to 70 cus raiding starts in a little over a week. Eek!
My only hope is that I dont have to respec to holy or some such crap. Shadow FTW!

There are lots of werewolf-type things in Silverpine that are listed as humanoid that are skinnable. The things that look more human aren't. That's where I get my cloth supplies.

Because of work haven't been playing too much. Just reached 62 yesterday and am making steady progress. Since the BC have been playing my alts a bit more. Have a 22 ne rogue, 16 gnome 'lock, 15 dwarf priest, 9 draenai hunter. Have 3 horde characters but don't play them much 'cause there isn't much interest in our guild for horde. Has anyone been to Nagrand yet? Guess who's there out in the wild? Nesingwary!!! Remember him in STV? When you first talk to him he remembers you. He told me "Hey there Musketeer. How's the hunting going? You turned into quite the hunter back there in Stranglethorn." I was cracking up at that.
Of course...the bloodbath that always took place around Nesingwary's camp in STV pretty much takes place again. Lots of players from both sides doing the quests.

And Pathos, from what I've heard, there's a lot of Alliance RP on our server, which is also PVP. I'm friends with a Draenai girl who is actually creating an Alliance version of my guild, Sanctuary, so we can have a cross-faction guild. Sentinals is normal I think. Mine just crossed from low pop to medium but we're PvP.
Last night I had my first encounter with a 70 horde trying to gank me by swooping down from above on his flying mount. It was funny.
I'm in Nagrand out in a big open field killing those antelope-looking things for Nesingwary. I'm still 65 and the beasts are all 1 or 2 levels higher than me so each one is a serious fight (and you need to kill 30 of them...talk about grinding!).
Of course I'm making sure to rotate the camera a full 360 every few seconds to make sure no enemy players or other beasts come up behind me. I've got my target almost dead but my own health is about half. No biggie...I'll bandage quick when he's dead.
Suddenly...BAM!!! I get stunned by a 70 troll warrior who came outta' the sky. He's 5 levels higher with epic gear and I'm half dead already so there's no point in trying to fight him. In this case a successful escape is a victory. Especially since I always talk smack on the Blizzard forums. It means lots of horde players are constantly gunning for me. To deny them a kill is almost as good as killing them.
I vanish...which gets me out of his grasp but he's got a shout up so I come out of stealth right away. So I hit sprint just as he charges me again. Luckily my sprint lasts much longer than the stun his charge gives him so off I go running. I manage to zig-zag around all the other beast in the area and not aggro them. Once I'm far enough away I stealth again and immeadiately turn back towards him just in time to see him mount his flyer and go chasing after me.
I spent the next 5 minutes waving and laughing at him. I'm sure it pissed him off good. Shame he didn't land so I could sap him and blow him a kiss (my favorite annoying thing to do to horde).
Man o man I love PvP servers. You can't have that kind of fun anywhere else. 8-)

Ok, I'm going to beat Nina on this one. We're both on Twisting Nether. It's a RP-PVP server. The RP, especially on the Horde side, is pretty active and there are lots of guilds. The population at the moment is medium.

Sentinals is a PVE/RP server. Frankly, I don't like PVP server because when I do quests, I like to be able to finish them without being geeked by assholes that a 20 levels above me...
PVP is fine... And if its a fair fight I will always lay into any horde that comes my way... And take my beatings like a man...
Plus PVP doesn't work well with a solo'er like me... Most people will just watch you die without helping.

Yeah...but I find that's one of the major advantages in being a Rogue. We have more ways to go un-noticed than anyone else. Early on with Musk I learned to stay stealthed a majority of the time. I explored entire zones while stealthed. Takes longer but no one bothers you that way.
I didn't join a guild with him until I was in the 50's. I did everything solo. To this day I haven't done half the instances in the game because I never wanted to group. Never did Gnomeran or Mauradon or Scarlet Monestary...none of that.
Once you get up into the 40's the rewards are worth it I think. I was around 45 or 46 and went to Freewind Post in Thousand Needles and just totally took it over by myself. Killed all the NPC's and for an hour didn't let anyone in or out. It was awesome.
10 or so levels later and you can start going to Grom Gol and sapping all the 60 horde over and over. THAT is a blast!

I have a prot warrior in the 30's. Takes frikin forever to kill anything but of course the good thing is I hardly lose any health in the process. Once I get Musk to 70 I'll probably start leveling him again.
A few people have recommended I respec to fury 'cause it makes leveling a lot easier. I can always spec back to prot at 70 if I wanna be a main tank.
DoņaNina
02-09-2007, 11:02 AM
No, she's arms.
Fury is great for soloing, arms is good for pvp, but is also okay for soloing.
Prot sucks for PVP.. and most soloing, in my opinion. HOWEVER, prot is okay for PVPing against rogues and casters.
I stick with arms 'cuz it's great for DPS, and I can still tank.

I would suggest switching to subtlety Dmitri, only because I've learned that combat rogues are considered "warriors in leather". I'm personally not a rogue expert, but Kickstand is, and if you like I can get his testimonial on the differences between the two specs.
All I know is that he and other subtlety rogues tend to eat combat rogues.

I think assassin Rogues kick both our asses. But yeah D Musk is mostly subtlety. I think I have 26 points there now and the rest in combat. Nothing in assassination at the minute.
I forget what the talent is but I have vanish tweaked so it's only a 3 and a half minute cooldown. Plus I have "preparation" which instantly wipes out all the cooldowns. So I can basically use vanish, sprint, and evasion twice in a row right away.
That has saved my ass more times than I can remember.

Combat rogues do more damage than warriors... They are basically a shredder. And a subtlety rogues are forced to use daggers to use most of their skills... Not crazy about that, not many good damage daggers on the AH... All the blues are out rageously expensive... even at high 20s now...
Honestly tho, the only reason why Dmitriy is a rogue is because Human's can't be hunters... Nelfs are pretty ghey... Especially the males. Once I get BC I may switch to a Belf hunter... But I still need to navigate Ogrimar and thunder bluff and I really hate those horde cities...

Building Combat til I can get "Blade Fury" attacking all enemies in range is AWESOME... Then I'll shove some in Assassination Remorselessness and Murder rock...
Subtlety is my last concern... Frankly in PVP I team with two other rogues with me as "bait" I do LOTS of damage and they swarm and Horde drop like a stone... Especially warriors who think I'm all alone...

I love Orgrimmar and TB! They have such a nice feel to them..
But you may like Silvermoon. It is pretty.. but has an underlying evilness.
As for combat rogues doing more damage than warriors, that is debatable. Fury specced warriors can out DPS a rogue, as can some arms warriors. Warriors are dependant on gear, so the moment you see a warrior with something equal or better to your gear, you're screwed.
As for AH weapons.. those are bad. Bad bad bad. BOE weapons are for selling. What you need is to either PVP your way to a good set of daggers, or do more dungeons and get yourself something there. BOE weapons are the only way to do.

I have blade fury and blade twisting. Both are awesome. Blade fury is great when you get jumped by two at once 'cause you get that second hit in. By the time your main target is down the second one is half dead.
I didn't use daggers at all until I was in the high 40's but now I'm sold (although I am using twin swords at the minute simply because I got 2 really good ones). The damage from a dagger isn't as good as a sword or mace but it's the speed that makes them rule. A dagger that does 120 damage at 1.4 second speed is a lot better than a sword that does 180 damage at 2.6. Add instant poison to that and your lethality is much greater in my opinion.
Plus...ambush at 300% damage + 335 is awesome. Hit em with that...a few sinister strikes...kidney shot...backstab at 180% plus 225...how can you not love daggers?

You can get some good weps from the AH but yeah...I don't really see good daggers there. Might be the reason I didn't use them until I got higher. Just last night I got a quest that gives a great one as the reward. I'll look to do that this weekend.
I think the Alliance definately has the advantage with the capital cities. Anytime I need to do anything at a capital I go to IF. It's far and away the best design. A big circle...impossible to get lost. Org is so effin big it's like a whole zone!

Interestingly...Thrall showed up in Nagrand last night. Not sure the capacity but I was questing when suddenly there was a shout in the chat "Thrall yells: FINALLY I AM HOME!!!"

Actualy, orcs and tauren basically have the same political and religious views. Orcs were only war-like and crazy because of the burning legion. Their shamanistic culture is nearly identical to the tauren's.
Trolls.. well.. there are many of them. They are definately the most savage of all races, which is sooo much fun to play with.
Undead.. yah.. you guys can kills Sylvanas all you want. That bitch is crazy.

She's also the hardest to get to even though Thrall gives more honor since he's sorta' the boss of the bosses.
I managed to backstab her once as part of the initiation into my old guild. Stealthed right to her. Thank god I had MOD or the guards would'a made mincemeat of me.
I was just looking for the screenshot I had of it but it's not on this computer.

That may be... but they came here and started killing... Not cool... If they hadn't helped the Tauren with the Centaurs, the Tauren would be Alliance.

Keep in mind, the Alliance is not the Alliance out of honor. They are the Alliance out of convenience. Tauren saw the good in orcs, and helped them because they saw honor and justice.
Orcs came here and started killing, yes.. but the Alliance put them in internment camps and committed mass genocide. Plus, the orcs that were involved in the 1st and 2nd wars are mostly dead, now.

I agree, my first time in Org I got lost.. lol Now it's not so bad. I just love the overall feel. Like.. these guys built this city within only the last four years, you know? It's very new, nothing ancient about it.
Thunder Bluff? We wonder how in the HELL they got up there! And if you ever meet Cairne Bloodhoof, you just.. I dunno.. how could ANYONE ever want to kill him?? He's such a nice guy! Especially if you do the "Childrens Week" quest where he tells your orphan to eat all of his vegetables..
Thrall too! The guy is so friendly.. "Welcome! Have you come to serve the Horde?"
Just wanna give 'em a big hug..
I get lost every time I go to Undercity, and it's my home! Sylvanas is scary and sorta nasty, even as a member of her personal guild. Infection - the Jesuits of the Horde.
The lag in Org is so bad I try to leave as soon as I can.
TB is really nice. I like going there, except for the time I accidently walked off the bridge to Elder Bluff. You could hear the splat in Crossroads!
They did a really good job with Silvermoon City. You gotta try the murloc scampi at the inn. It comes highly recommended.

I'll have to roll a Belf so I can do a little recon on the city...find out where the leader is.
Then once me and my guild all hit 70 we can launch an assault!!!

I have a horde question...
What is so fun about being 60th level and hanging out and killing things in Goldshire? 30-35 I can see since the NPCs are around that level... but come on... do you really get off on killing 10th level players...?

Um, I could say the same thing about you guys in the Barrens.
Plus, remember.. we can't kill you in Goldshire unless you flag yourself by attacking us.
Not that I ever do that, but there you have it.. it's kind of like when we Hordies go a-questin' in the Alterac Mountains. It's 24/7 ganking there.

XRoads is a travel hub, it's average level PCs are teens and low twenties, it has lots of high level PCs in it AND its a Flight Path dead center so reinforcements can arrive within several minutes and land right in the middle of the fight...
I have NEVER attacked Xroads and not had LOTS of Horde resistence.
GS is levels 5-10, the closest flight is Stormwind (a 3 minute run) and once your over those levels, you hardly ever go back, Alliance here that GS is attacked or Eastvale Logging Camp and we don't go because it takes to long to get there... so not alot of simiarities between GS and XR....

It depends on your sever. Nobody ever really attacks Goldshire on TN, since you kind of can't unless a lvl 10 tries to attack you first. I have no idea why people on your server are attacking GS, but it's not a Horde thing... it's just a dumb thing.
And lets not all do the Horde/Alliance stereotypes.. you know.. the Horde are gankers and the Alliance is mostly kids and teenagers? I hate that.

Argent Dawn isn't too bad........ I have 10 toons there. Highest are a 60 nelf shadow priest, 62 demonolgy spec'd lock, and a 66 nelf druid (I so gotta get storm crow). The server transfers lightened up the load a lot. BTW.....the final quest at the new Nestingways gives you a wicked cool gun.
So who picked Scryers and who picked Aldor?
aka.....Shadowcrow, Blackwolf, and Laughingcrow among others.

No. Outland only.
Although they're making it sound like they may change that in a future patch.
edit: The thing that sucks about them is you have to buy the cheap 900g one before you can buy the 5000g epic. Despite the fact you need to be 70 before you can get either. Kind of a waste of 900g if you ask me.

I had to go with the Scryers for that wicked dps dagger you can get from them. Although I still haven't figured out where to get quests for them. So far I just have one that's for some random drop item to turn in.

Holy crap. Looks like we have a lot of work ahead of us to get attuned for the good stuff. :unamused:
Taken from:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=73389056&sid=1
Getting attuned to specific raids in Burning Crusade is a staggeringly painful task in comparison to old methods of attunement. Rather then running a simple quest here or there that relies greatly on beating a final boss or perhaps even just delivering a note to an npc, the Burning Crusade attunements require multiple instance runs, numerous keys and even the completion of raid encounters to be fully attuned.
Theres a decent amount of misinformation out there about reputation requirements for attunement purposes. For clarification, to get into the Heroic mode 5 man dungeons youll need to hit Revered with the specified faction to gain a key to that factions Heroic mode dungeons. Once some of the Heroic modes are completed you will be able to attune to the Tempest Keep raid, which currently is not in the game. So if your guild is intent on raiding, reputation is a secondary priority to getting keyed to Karazhan. Reputation will come passively while you gear your guild up in the level 70, 5 man instances.
Though the vast majority of the games raiding guild population has yet to get their all of members fully attuned to Karazhan or Tempest Keep, people are searching for answers on what the steps are for full attunement. I figured Id chime in with a few tidbits of information as well as useful links to get people on the right track.
Below youll find a list of attunements / keys that youll need for Burning Crusade.

I hit 70 Saturday night. Woo Hoo!!!
Flying mounts rule! A little slow but it's awesome being able to go straight over the mountains instead of zigzagging all the way up and down the trail.
Now begins the long grind to rep up with the Scryers and Consortium. And make enough gold for the epic flyer. And get keyed for all the instances.
Lotta' work ahead. :unamused:

My 'lock loves her Succubus. Shockingly enough, it was a Blood Elf who helped my then lvl 20 human 'lock get hers. I was plotting how to get the thing from the tree when a ?? BE 'lock came along. We waved back and forth and communicated as best as we could. When I went to start killing the 'locks and minions protecting the tree, the BE decided to help. ::yay::
We find a lot of cool BEs in the Ashenvale area.
