Hi... I'm looking for an acid-free, paint-on clear-coating substance, that's waterproof. I've got a plastic tackle box that I use to keep my sewing tools in (so I can carry them to campus), and I've been attaching a holographic fish sticker as a reward to myself every time I complete a project... they're the acid-free ones you get for scrapbooking. The problem is, they peel right off the first time it's really humid/ it rains. :wah: It's humid and rainy a lot in Michigan. I'd like to be able to clear coat each one as I attach it, yet still be able to layer on more as time goes on. There's not enough that I need to overlap them yet, but I'm hoping someday there will be. Anyone have any ideas? All the local gameshop had was clearcoat spray, and it wasn't acid-free (and thus non-reactive with the stickers). Help? :hmm:

What about mod-podge or any of the other glues designed for decoupage? I know they dry clear. While not the same as a top coat, they are designed to be smoothed over something to help it lay flat.

is that something they'd have at Michael's or JoAnns? and is water-resistant?

Absolutely at Michael's. Not sure about Jo-Ann's. You'd need to read the label to see if it's water proof. I know I have used it for some heavy duty decoupaging in the past--I've also put on several coats.

Thanks. :smooch: I'll have to check it out when I get to go shopping next week. ^_^ I likes my fishies. They make me feel all happy, like I've actually accomplished something with all this finger-poking and time.
