Not a cheerful topic, but save yourself or your loved ones countless hours of work by filling out this "Family Love Letter" form (http://scrogginlaw.com/pdf/familyloveletter4pdf.pdf) with a summary of all your assets, bank accounts, etc., to be used in the event of your passing. Make your spouse, parents, etc., fill one out also. The top gives basic information about the need to properly plan for death, then the bottom has the form to fill out. Be sure to read the examples on the first page -- it will motivate you to bite the bullet and do this work.
