I, Paulina Sears, a.k.a. Lucy Buckles wench #2772, Madame Cum Laude, graciously accept nomination to run for Madame of International Wenches Guild local 77.

Although most of you know me, I know there are some others who may not know my background. I am a computer technician specializing in Sony laptops for Geek Squad City. I am very proud to be a part of their fun twist on computer technology. Geeky uniform and all...oh and I was also chosen out of 300 to be one of the 15 Geek Mobile drivers for media events! It's an honor. Before Geek Squad, I worked in the Human Resources field for 8 years where I supervised sensitive and confidential information on over 400 employees.

I began my journey through faire life in 1994 at King Richard’s Faire in MA. I moved just a few years later to beautiful Kentucky where there were only a couple of nearby faires (that were 2 and 3 hours away). I mostly visited faire as a playtron, but made lots of friends and family along the way. In 2005, I was visiting the KY state fair when I saw a couple dressed in garb standing near a poster advertising for the Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival. After becoming fast friends with their management, I offered extended amounts of time to help this new endeavor grow and was eventually offered the position of Cast Director, which I do as a volunteer position. After many months of research and rehearsals, our faire gate opened and we had done it! We had a fantastic opening season! I had the honor of being knighted into an elite group called the Knights of Cuchullain that year as well for my dedication, time and success by the owner of the faire himself who is a leader amongst this elite group. I even have a Knight’s Code to live by, not only during faire, but outside of it in the real world as well.

My goals for this fairly new and fantastic group of wenches are:

To educate more women about the guild and its values and recruit to help our Local grow and grow!

To gain a closer tie and gather more of the Tennessee wenches into the Local

To gain interest from the KYHRF faire management so that we can have an official presence there and possibly a faire-based hostel. Enabling us to have fun and exciting wench activities happen throughout the faire season as well as a welcoming place for visiting guild members. I’m hoping to get this going with TNRF as well but my excellent relationship with KYHRF management is an advantage at the moment and with the faire being new they are more open to ideas and suggestions. I do, however believe we could rekindle the relationship with TNRF if they knew things were going well at KYHRF.

Choose a charity or two where the local could participate and raise funds.

Have more L77 gatherings so that the constant flow of new people will be welcomed by the existing members. So we can get to know each other better…learn from each other…and have FUN!
I will be an easily reachable open door for all who need as well as a fair and understanding leader and friend. I will work closely with the Vice Madame to ensure all my goals are met and the Local is running properly, respectfully, fairly, and with lots of FUN and wenchy goodness!

For all this and more, I ask for your vote as the Madame of Local 77 International Wenches Guild.

EDITED IN: Today I was informed I am being interviewed to be a part of Geek Squad women's leadership that will sponsor a camp for middle school and high school girls to help teach strength in knowledge and independence. I am VERY honored to have been one of only a couple women chosen to interview.

I'd also like to add that Piper and I would like to run on the same "ticket" so to speak. We work very well together and I believe we would make a fantastic leadership team for Local 77.

Thanks again!
Lucy
