Jawa Report, TX - 3 hours ago
I do not play nor do I own World of Warcraft. Stopped at Warcraft 2, so I'm hip to the series. Anyway, some well-known WoW player died (in real life), ...

This story is old, but I remember being outraged. The person who wrote this is a true dick. Seriously.. if one of my buddies from WoW were to die, I'd probably do the same in-game. How is ambushing a memorial service funny??

It's a PvP server, so it's fitting. If they had wanted to be safe, they should have held the service in a city. Or the admins that were running it could have just killed everyone who was attempting to interfere. I've played on PvP servers, and if I were popular enough to have a well-attended memorial service after I died IRL, I would be laughing my ass off from above at the antics that were going on.

Guess I'm an asshole too =)

I just watched the video and read this and all I have to say is - omg that was hilairous! I am on a PvP server with my alliance character so I know that you can be just standing there and if a horde has the chance to take you out THEY WILL. They should have had it in a non-contested zone or city like Kyrana said. Do you know how many horde guilds on my server would have come and ganked an ally funeral party, I mean seriously?!

Do NOT transfer RL problems/grief into the in-game expirence and expect things to go well. People go to game to get away from stuff like that and people are assholes but, if you are on a PvP server expect that. I'm not outraged b/c its a game and the fact that you are transfering a RL thing into game is silly. Espcially the fact that they did it in winterspring where there was nothing to keep them from getting ganked. Its a sad fact that someone died but be smart if you are going to plan service or expect things like that.

I get ganked by horde more than I gank them so its not like I'm part of one of those guilds that goes out and ganks for fun. In fact maybe thats the root of my problem - I think I may need gank thearapy. ::tinfoil:

This video made my FREAKING day... funny stuffs. *rotfl*

This shit happens all the time. Basically...if you announce on the forums that a big group of one faction is getting together at a certain place/time...then you can expect a big group from the other faction to show up.

It happens so often that sometimes people will announce a memorial service for a deceased guildmate only to have it turn out it's just a trap to get opposing players to show up and pvp. The ambushers become the ambushed.

No rules...no foul.
