Hello Wenches!!!!! You have chosen your new Hostel Dame and Vice Dame.

The chosen ones are: me, Lady Red as Dame and Lady D as Vice.


I thank you for chosing me as your Hostel Dame, and with the right support from you, my sister wenches, we can have a Hostel at BARF for all members of the Guilds.

I am looking for all the wenches in the area to assist me and Lady D in persuading the managementof BARF to allow a Hostel to be set up for our enjoyment, a place to relax, hide from bad weather, a meeting place and a place to drop off items thru out the day.

Lady D and I are also trying to slowly reorganize the sisterhood with this venue, so that we can do the things that the Guilds and Lars wants us to have, and that is to have fun!!!


If all of you could do me a favor when you post,
Please use your faire name and Wench position and your guild number,
and what exactly can you do, for example, sewing, crafter, dancer, singer, etc.
So I have some sort of idea of who you are, and what your gifts are.


Lady D and I are so excited to be in these positions, we are going to have alot of fun pulling this together this summer, but to do it we are going to need you, our sister wench, to help make it happen!!!!

My goal at faire is to be a vendor, i have beena vendor at a couple of festivals already and i can offer my services if anyone is needing to rid them selves of faireware.

Evening, all, just checking in. I don't come over to this forum very often, so if someone wants me to see something, make sure to tell me.

I'm Escarlata, Madam, #3053. My talents are a willingness to help as needed and to try anything at least once. I also provide a pretty good distraction as needed by playing with my food.

Ohhh, you wanted more concrete things I can do???

I can sew, I am fairly handy with my hands, I sing harmony of my own devising so usually make that only with the voice in my head.

I hopped right on over here from the other forum, as soon as I'd read that there was a new developement in FL. I will be moving to Fort Lauderdale area in the next few months.

I am Queen Maggie, #617, from Maryland: one of the founding wenches from our local. I have also worked with the splinter group "Team Wench" to create the fundraisers that support MS and Cancer research: the MSFantasy Ball and the Pirate Feast. I do not participate in wench activities at faire since I am on cast and that would cause problems, but I do act as a liason when needed (as when the guild wanted to wench the new king four years ago...) I have ben a wench for ten years, but I was attending faires since 1978... Madam cum Laude.

I do historical research, and can give classes in "Courtly Manners 101" I also create my own garb and corsetry and have helped out at a lot of SnBs. I am horrible at organizing things. I am, however, a very good director if I have a good stage manager (and, btw, every stage manager I've ever worked with, wants to work with me again.) I also have a good bit of background in Shakespeare, and can teach 'renaissance language' for people that want to try to sound more period.

I'm not into the "faery" aspects of faire (my attitude is all about the history, and I feel that it should be called a fantasy faire if they are included) but that's not because I don't like fantasy: I have a huge book collection of fantasy and sf (on the order of 3000 books) and know quite a lot of lore: I just don't like mixing that with the renn faire ...but this also doesn't mean that I will ever be nasty or say anything rude to someone who does like to mix them up: as MDRF's illustrious former madam said: "It's faire, not brain surgery" It's about people having different ways to have fun: mine's just a little esoteric.

I am Welsh Wench, known to my close friends at BARF as just 'Wenchie' a nickname bestowed on me through Renaissancefestival.com

What can I do? If you need anything written up, in an amusing fashion, I am the wench for the job.

While I am not going to sing or dance, I usually can make people laugh and yes, I can vouch for Escarlata's food-eating distraction.

I do know how to sew. Given a pattern.

My position? Usually vertical. (We aren't going to mention that bale of hay on the last weekend, are we?)

So...let me know what I can do to help.
