F.Y.I. to Verizon Wireless Customers
Over the past weekend, Verizon Wireless made a few changes to their website and how you access it.
I don't have a texting "package" on my phone. I pay per text on the rare occasion I either need to send one or receive one.
Otherwise, I was texting from www.vtext.com to other Verizon customers. (that's the only negative; can't text other provider phones)
Anywho, Verizon has now made it so that instead of having a separate log in to VTEXT, you now go through your "My Account".
That means that, everyone who is on your account (family plan, multi phones, etc.) and has the User ID and Password, can now look at your text messages and vice versa.
Personally, I don't need to know what my daughters (22 & 25) are texting to their friends and I sure don't need them looking at my text messages.
This was done without a written notice from Verizon. My daughter, who's name is on the account, got an obscure text message about this from Verizon. She just thought they had updated their records or whatever, NOT made the account basically open to anyone with the password.
I just thought I would pass this on in case anyone else has Verizon Wireless for their cell phone.
By the by, the rep I spoke to didn't even know this happened, concerning the now UNprivate text records on accounts.
