High-ranking, 17-year Republican Senator Larry Craig of Idaho, a frequent and vociferous opponent of Gay Rights, has himself come out of the closet.
Of course, by "closet" I mean "airport bathroom stall".
And by "come out" I mean "dragged out and arrested by the undercover officer he propositioned for anonymous gay bathroom sex (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&um=1&resnum=1&ct=title&ie=UTF-8&q=senator+craig&btnG=Search+News)".

Hey, Bob, did you see Olberman's re-enactment of the incident read verbatim from the police report? ::horror::

What’s pathetic about the whole thing was that there was a male page back in the 1970’s that claimed that Criag made advances towards him when Craig was single.
But did you realize had he done all of this stuff outside on a public street to a prostitute, it wouldn't be enough to be arrested.

Not yet, but I'm sure my TiVo has it waiting for me.
I hear that various news organizations at the national and local level are having a grand old time with their re-enactments and demonstrations.
YouTube is also abuzz with comedic clips and commentary. One of them features a couple of "rednecks" commenting on the complexity of the machinations that Craig was going through. One of them finally said, "I don't get all these signals and stuff; when I want to get some, I just go down to the bar, wait for the first girl to fall off her stool then tell her her hair looks nice."

Somewhere, George Michael is having a field day.
Somewhere, George Michael is having a field day.
Either that or he is on a plane right now headed for that bathroom.......

I gotta say though, for what it's worth, I've got no problem with him trolling for trouser trout in the toilet. As a matter of principle, I feel that it sucks (no pun intended) that someone should be arrested for that. Heck, if there were similar cruising spots for heterosexuals, I'd probably be there all the time. :shhh:
The glee in this particular case comes, of course, from the spectacularly embarrassing outing of a rabid, anti-gay, "family-values" politician.
What's interesting is that the GOP leadership is asking the Senate Ethics Committee to look into the Right Honorable Senator, and the gay-rights groups have gotten their panties in a bunch (if you'll pardon the expression) over it, because similar steps were not taken after the revelations that Senator "Sanctity of Marriage" Vitter (R-La.) was a solicitor of the services of the "Washington Madam", saying that it demonstrates that the GOP is more offended by ethically questionable gay acts than they are ethically questionable hetero acts.
Of course, there is that old saying, "a politician can survive virtually anything except getting caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy". Apparently it's true.

Bob, here's a blog from the Huffington post on this issue you might find amusing. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/nina-burleigh/satans-in-the-stall-besi_b_62474.html
