Most excellent news Lady Laura , ::welcome:

Lady Red and I shall have to plan an after faire gathering and feast at a local tavern close by the faire grounds.

It's in a very good area , talked very highly of, it's called the Cock and Bull ::glugglu:

Planning on doing a first visit myself there this coming weekend.

When do u plan on arriving to the area?

I will be driving down with the trailer, leaving either Tuesday night, 11/7 or Wednesday, 11/8. We will be staying in Sarasota. A tavern visit will be most welcome! I'm sure I can talk Pat into it, at least! ;-)

Have a good , fun ,and safe venture south,

Construction on 95 in parts of North and South Carolina , and lots in Georgia, at least there was on Labor day weekend, and looked like they be at it for a while.

I talked to Pat last night via telephone, gave me some details on the driven journey down from Ct to Fl.

He is all for a tavern visit after faire one night. possibilities on going to the place me mentioned as well.

Looks as if I will be camping on site for the weekends, so any advice on that will be appreciated! Also, I will not have a car, so if you wish to kidnap ME and take me out to the pubs, you won't have to twist my arm too hard! lol As long as I make it back to the site, I'm good!

There's camping on the SMF faire site ? Didn't hear about that.. hummm...::groupco: . Sam didn't hear about camping either.I'm sure he would have told me or tried to talk me into camping if there was , or he knew about it.

I was told that I can camp in or behind our merchant tent. I don't know anything more than that about the camping. I was hoping that you guys would! lol

All I know is that now I have to pack camping gear, along with garb, beach clothes, and regular clothes. I better get started, haven't even done the laundry from last weekend's faire yet!

Well, here in Florida, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, flip flops and bathing suits are considered "regular clothes" ;-)

Sam had to get used to that too, took him a bit, but he is always in sandals or he is barefoot.8-) ::sailing: *looks at his clod hoppers, wow, what big feet he has!!*::waggle::

I will find out for you about the camping if you want me to...... but if they have already said you are going to be behind the merchants tent then they must have gotten permission for you to be there.

Can't wait to meet you next weekend, we are going to have a blast!!!!!::yay::

lol, before we have a blast, we will have set-up... ::pray:: Praying that the tent is set up when we get there, because if we have as much product as I think we will, we will be pressed for time to get it all out there by Saturday morning...

I hope I have the energy left to party, but then again, I seem to always find it SOMEWHERE! ::beerbud:::yay::

Sandals, have to dig out sandals, and shorts. I don't think I wore shorts outside the house all summer here, even though it was hot out. Never made it to the beach either, since I did faires pretty much every weekend. I think I would scare people with my ghostly white legs!

Still not sure when I will be arriving, and if I am camping during set-up or what. *shrug* Will find out sooner or later...

Are you close enough to stay at home, or are you camping, or staying at a hotel? I kinda hope you can camp, because it would be nice to have someone else camping with me. Although I'm sure I'll make some friends anyhow, since I'm not too shy...

From what I understand is the tent will be setup for us before we even arrive, and no problem on the deadline of saturday morning.

I'm sure we can find the energy to party without a problem.

no biggy , there is alot of that, but it doesn't last long , one day in the sun and you'll have color.

Tee hee...Took us THREE DAYS to set up that amount of product for CT faire...*rotfl*It ain't gonna be pretty, especially since we are dealing with a new set-up, not our usual. But we WILL get it done, no doubt!

I'm sure we can find the energy to party without a problem. We will NEED to party after that set up! ::chugchu:We generally keep a cooler handy for the end of set-up...

Can't wait to meet you two, this is gonna be fun! ::yay:: The set-up is really tough work, break down isn't quite as bad. But at least with set-up, you are looking forward to the faire.

On another note, is the Guild active at this faire? Are there Wench Walks? If so, I would love to participate in one...

I don't for see any problems with getting things setup in time. :rescue:

The party never starts and stops it's a continuios roll, with or without alcohol. ::yay:::singdanc:

GOOD TIMES will be had by all i'm sure.::glugglu:

Yes we will have a cooler with us as well.

I woudn't mind camping , but Lady Red doesn't camp for any reason , she'd opt for a hotel everytime. Her husband may have something to say about that.:hmm: Don't need rumors started either.

The coloring shouldn't be burnt red as long as you wear some protection, the sun/weather is different here from CT.

As far as the guilds go in this area , there will be no wench walks , as the all the walk leaders will be off doing another faire.

They are all cast of another faire across the bay.

The privy council just started having meetings again after doing nothing for a while.

The guilds and members have issues here that I personally am trying to iron out.

No official guild presence at any faire Yet.

That is changing as well. Slow and steady baby steps to this point.

Lady Red here, Wow, alot going on here!!! Wee!!!

as for camping, I can't, as my back will not allow it....

Seamus would not have a problem with us sharing a room, as he is trusting of me and Sam, but Sam is correct, the rumours that would be started are not worth it, really.

Lady Laura, please bring a pair of jeans, as I have been watching the weather channel, and it might be chilly in the evenings,

oh yes, the coolers will be present, what is your drink of choice??? Mine is rum and cokes, of course.

we only have three trained walk leaders, and they are doing other commitments, so there will be no walks going on,

I am the Dame, but have not been trained to lead walks, as the llb lays out who does the walks. I think the Dame should be one that can lead the walks also, but we are working on that. One step at a time. :)

The BARF area has not had a Hostel in some time, we just got the interest up and running again this past season, so we have alot of work to do, and none of it is done quickly. We shall have plenty of time to speak of this, in person.

Local 21 is small, with our sisters spread out all over Florida, so it is hard for all of us to meet in one place.

ok, I think I have covered it all, if not, I will post some more.....

lol rumors rumors everywhere. I sing the Llama song, with the word rumors inserted instead of the word Llama... *rotfl* I've given up on trying to prevent them, I just go with it!

Jeans, yes, I will be bringing a lot of jeans. Not quite ready to convert to shorts totally, we'll have to work on that one!

As far as what I drink, I'm not terribly picky! ::glugglu: The only things I won't drink are cheap booze, and wine. I especially hate cheap scotch, will only drink single malt. I'm planning to bring my own cooler, too, so I can have my own stock!

As far as the walks go, here in New England (Local 24), we are pretty well established, and have done many, many walks. We hit our 100th target of the season at CTRF. As you mentioned, we can discuss in FL, it may be helpful to you to hear how we do it!

For the size of the state Florida is there really aren't alot of members period, that aren't cast on some show somewhere. Lady Red will be starting to get the word out about the wenches guild starting this weekend and continuing thru SMF.

The state is cut basically in two. east and west .

hopefully new members will bring some much needed new blood and life back to all the guilds here.

Thanks! Sounds as if I have the OK to camp behind our tent, or IN our tent, it's definately going to be big enough for it! I hear you on the rooster thing. At CT faire, we had a wool dying place across from us, and the first day, they had a SHEEP. It was bleating ALL DAY. Needless to say, they didn't bring it the rest of the run. *rotfl*
