I came extremely close a few weeks ago to getting a whole new system just for that. Maybe when I get my tax refund.

Having never played an MMO *except* for WoW (and no console games EVER), I can say that the combat is weird, and confusing. There are a lot of variables to figure out. It's not nearly as intuitive as WoW is. I hit the "ship combat tutorial" and pretty much gave up. Between the camera swinging around the the *front* of the ship, and not being able to hit the broadside of a mountain, much less the little floating targets around me...yeah. I must just not have a "gamer brain" that grasps the nuances of this stuff.

Well, we bought the game for myself and the bf. Not so much with it. He was able to figure it out b/c he's played other MMO's, but I was totally frustrated and confused within about 30 minutes. It seems like a cool game, but I can't get past the UI to figure it out :(

Check it out again. :) The new patch was just released on Tuesday. There are a bunch of new tutorials and the UI was revamped. :)

I saw your post over there today. Welcome aboard! I can't tell you what servers I play on or what nations, for obvious reasons. :) Hope you're having a blast with the game. :)

Usually because there is an enforced NDA that states if you are a known moderator or GM that you cannot, in turn, let all of your friends you play with know in order to enforce the "no playing favorites" rule..or there was with Funcom

That is absolutely correct. :) I can't reveal the servers I play on or my toon names. If I am grouped with people they never know it is me.

Wow...I'm pretty sure when I had to visit the Naval office in the French capital a few days ago it was a fairly easy affair.

Now tonight I had to go there again and it took me a friggin half hour to navigate the endless maze of a town that suddenly exists. With all it's dead ends and useless map.

And then of course it took another twenty minutes to get back to the harbor master.

Was all that really necessary?

They're slowly redoing all the capital cities. Tortuga was first, French cap was next. I believe Spain and then Britain after that.

There's a huge feedback thread on it in the Discuss: Graphics & sound section of the forums that the Dev team is reviewing if you want to add your two pence. :)
