Good Evening all!!
I have some terrific news, and I need some input as well..
Our Local has recenly been given permission to have a Hostel at the FLaRF Site!!! The numbering and name of the Hostel, will take place at a later date, upon a completed converation between myself, Dranaan/Dawn and Lars. However, we have the festival's permission to operate.
Now as this is a multi-encampment festival, with a Wench group already there, we have also received the blessing of the other major encampments. This was important as I would like us all to be able to play well together.
The Hanesiatic (sp?) League encampment has graciously agreed to host
the Hostel as they have the room. The structure will be as follows:
Bonnie will be the only wench, other than myself, to be in contact with any member of the festival staff in regards to ANY International Wenches Guild matters. I have asked Lady Mem to appoint/volunteer/what have you, one Wench to be the LME Liason, or official person to disseminate IWG business to LME wenches, I will either be the liason for the Adrian Empire, or will pick someone, and Bonnie will handle her people. Becky D. will be our Mundane (non-cast, non-encampment) person. and I would like to have someone from the cast as well. This will make sure that all our bases are covered, and assist with scheduling. We will also have the need to fill various other positions at a later date.
What we will need from you all is this: ideas as to special activities that can be IWG activites that all members, including encampment members, can play. Duties that may be needed for the hostel, and ideas in general.
We have permission to attempt HONOR wenching walks this year, at will. Meaning unscheduled. there are to be some rules forthcoming on this as Bonnie and I work with the Entertainment Director, Lars, and Dranaan/Dawn.
The idea of this hostel is the following... TO HAVE FUN, without one person doing all the work. The idea is to split the workload between several, that way it does not interfere with CAMP DUTIES and other duties, but still allow the wenches to have a place to meet-n-greet, to stash items, to have a small place to rest their tootsies, and to be able to have fun and finally have a functioning IWG presence.
The idea is NOT to step on toes, over-run bits, fight, have one person burdened down with all the work, or impeede on camp duties.
We all need to help make this work, and get things started. I truly
feel that if we all put differences aside, a little bit of elbow grease in, and a whole lot co-operation, this can be a VERY FUN envedour for all involved, not just this year, but for many to come.
I think that if we all work together, this can be VERY successful, and an absolute riot..
So what do you say ladies????
