Second Life - Tell me more

Fun? Boring? Successful business owner with silky drawers? I'm considering downloading the game because honestly, it's just that I want to avoid unpacking and cleaning for as long as possible :P

I tried it for about oh...4 hours. hated it. but i know that others here have sunk a good portion of their RL into it. Even the bf, actually. At one point he had a rather successful strip club in world that was kicking back a nice chunk of RL change every month :)

There's definitly a learning curve with it, tho :)

It's a lot of fun. I acutally liked it so much I had a paid membership. Then it got boring and I cancelled it to play Warcraft. It is quite a hoot. Especially if you love to talk to people, there you can talk to people from all over the world, there's live band performances in world, with live sound, some of the music is amazing, and it's just a lot of fun. I'm not much of an online chatter and I got tired of guys bugging me for cybersex.

I loove it. I have a sizeable chunk of land there, too. But now my computer's just so damned slow I can't get in much any more. MAN does that piss me off.

There IS a Guild Presence in-world. And I suppose my land is the unofficial hostel. There's always carrot cappuccino and a box of chocolates sitting out for guests.

I am a SL addict-I have never paid for an account and have made almost 100 real dollars for selling my linden dollars. I have a HUGE wardrobe of almost all purpkle costumes.....

I love changing my costumes and playing the games. (where i make the money) I have had jobs being a dancer and such too.

there are great pirate & ren bars where you can listen to music & talk to people. Yesterday while bopping around i talked to people in frace, netherlands, canada and texas!

I played it a bit when it first was in beta, and I mean waaaay back. I don't remember quite so MUCH porn. There was probably porn but yeah.

That said, I enjoy the heck out of my SL, and use it for the social aspect, not as a game (WoW is a game, SL doesn't have lvls or quests or even goals--except those that residents create for themselves, like that Rampant Cock idea, and if you do that, please hire me as a hostess, I can provide references! ::yay:: ) ...to me, SL is more like a chat room with fantabulous graphics than a game.
