OK, this is more for the aww factor. It will also seem pretty lame for those who don't have kids but oh well. I have been around people who were pregnant and I still had never gotten to feel a baby kick. Oh, I have rubbed the tummies and all that wonderful stuff (with permission of course!) but no kicks. Well, I have felt our little man flitting about in my tummy for a bit now. Last night it finally happened! I had laid down to go to bed and had my hand on my tummy. Just something I started doing since I got pregnant! Well, low and behold, a kick against my hand. The hubby still hasn't felt it as he was snoring away at that point but I felt it a couple of times. It was kind of magically to me. I know, lame, right? Like he was going to get born and I would never feel him or he wouldn't kick me! Anyway, for a first time mom and for the a person who had never felt a kick before, it was marvelous! I am sure some of you will understand what I am trying to say. None the less, it was a beautiful moment and I thought I would share a happy and positive experience in my life. Ok, and I don't have anyone else to tell right now and wanted to shout it from the roof tops!

Definately not lame. That's one of the best moments of being preggers.

Now just wait until the little guy is kicking the hell out of a book you are trying to read with it balanced on your belly!! :-D

Oh, Gwen! How wonderful! I am still waiting to feel my lil' guy or gal...I sometimes lie still and pay really close attention...nothing. However, I'm only 15 weeks-2days, and chubby. Apparently, you feel it later if it is your first pregnancy/if you aren't skinny. So I am being patient.

Congrats on the magic! :grouphug:

That's beautiful, Gwen! It's one of the most special moments of pregnancy!

Just wait, though... my second kicked me so hard - in the same spot, always - that I had a bruise show up on the outside.

And now he's a football player... yeah. :toocool:

Enjoy these moments, hun!

How exciting for you. That's one of the best parts of pregnancy.

That was one of my favorite things when I was pregnant!

Just wait 'till he kicks you in the bladder when you already have to pee....(yes, there were almost incidents!) *rotfl*

Said out of love - and cause I've been there...

"Depends - not just for old farts anymore!"

*rotfl* I thought about that a couple of times! The Farie season I was preggo, about 7 months along, I was writing up an order and kinda had to go, but figured I could finish writing the order up, then hit the privy as the lady knew exactly what she wanted and it was a simple order. I stood up to hand the clipboard to someone else to fit her and *WHAM*, Gwydion kicked down *hard*and right in the bladder! I don't think I've ever run so fast up that hill in my life!

That's awesome! Have you gotten a baby book or journel yet? I'd start writing things down, all the firsts you want to remember (cuz believe me...life's gonna speed up big time soon!)

I still remember the first time I felt both of my daughters kick and that's 26 and 23 years ago.

It's an almost spiritual moment that you get to share with no one but your wee unborn.
Savor the moment Sweetie.

the flutter is fun, but that first kick is the most amazing thing in the world and there is nothing more fantastic. Enjoy every moment!

Yeah, that's the only thing I miss about being pregnant. I loved feeling them kick. Just wait until you have "alien baby" run an elbow or foot from one side to the other. Totally creepy looking, but wonderful to feel!

::hug:: How totally awesome for you!
