I have nerve damage in one of my feet. The initial cause was a car wreck years ago. I have not been able to find tennis shoes that I can wear without causing me issues.

I found some athletic wear made by Danskin. I know they make dance shoes and dance gear in general. I was wondering if anyone here has worn any of the athletic shoes. If so, what has been your experience with them.

I did buy a pair today and will be wearing them to work. I have had them on for most of the evening. So far so good as far as the nerves go.

are the Danskin or Dansko?

dansko's are awesome, my SIL swears by them :) the only danskins i've ever worn were bonafide dancing shoes, so i'm not much help :(

They are Danskin. Even have a cute logo of a ballet dancer. I have been able to wear the dance footwear they make with no problem (for the most part), which is why I was willing to try these shoes.

They also have a running shoe that resembles a ballet slipper. If I can wear the shoes I have with no problem, I am seriously thinking about getting the other pair as every day casual wear.

I think you may be referring to their line of dance athletic shoes. I'm a trained country dancer and I've done latin ballroom. I bought my first pair of dance tennies when they came out in the late '90's. I liked my dance tennies more for walking around than actually dancing. There is not much of an arch on some pairs but you can flex and bend your foot alot in them. This helped me stretch my muscles around my bone/heel spurs. I wore orthotics anyway and that added to the arch. For dancing, I need a heel of somekind or I can't spin easily without leg strain. I wore mine for years and I think they are still in the garage in storage.
