OK,

I was requested to post this for Neellaca as she is heading for Ireland as we speak. She has graciously offered to host the Yule Garb Gathering at her place in McKinney, Texas. For those who have a loooong drive, or distance to travel, there will be places to crash or in PC terms, spend the night.

We plan to garb out, see the holiday lights of McKinney...they are reputed to be amazing, generally relax and have a good time.

On the 20th of December it will begin around 7 p.m. and go to whenever. It is "BYOB" and "BaD" (bring your own booze and bring a dish. ) If anyone is worried about copying someone elses..please pm and we will make a list.

If you need the address or the number for Neellaca, please PM me as I have been designated to give it out as she is traveling Ireland and she is also at war with her computer right now.

Let's have fun!

Kae and Neellaca

You can count on the Captain and myself being there. We have been looking forward to this since the topic was first mentioned. Let me decide what to bring and I will contact you.

Is this going to be a white elephant affair?

Isa,

I bow down to you and your awesome ideas.

I love the idea of a white elephant.

I think we should make it fun and jolly. Now what can I can up with......

So a white elephant will go on.. (I love making decisions.)

I shall have to ask the Captain what he's bringing (besides me  ) Was talking about what I shall bring as far as food is concerned. I know the rogues would be fine with a liquid dinner, but I would prefer something a bit more filling. :snicker:

As to the white elephant...do we draw names or just bring a non-gender specific gift and draw numbers at the party? What value do we put on the gift? $10, $15 ?

Isa May I make Request?? Cheries 0-)

Kae
11-11-2003, 05:34 PM
I agree on a more filling menu. It makes the liquid diet easier the next day.

I think it should be non-gender specific, so everyone is included. I would say nothing over $15. Make it fun ad cute and we could work it as an exchange. You know, one person picks a present. The next person can take that present and then the first must pick again or the next person can pick a present. And so on and so on.

How does that sound?

I think this will go over well, since we won't be gathering between now and then to pick names out of a hat.

All in favor.....

Does everyone like hot and spicey food?

I could make up MY Buffalo Wings (guaranteed to eat the tarnish off metal.) Also low carb, since there is no batter on them!!

I'll be there, too. Now . . . to decide what to bring OTHER than liquid refreshments. Sir Thomas, is any of the port ready? oh yea, that's liquid, too. I'll have to think about solid food!

Nevada
11-14-2003, 12:38 PM
If you make the wings...I will make something so the those with the white boy stomachs (aka Shadow  ) can eat also....personally I like spicy food but like my stomach lining intact

Rhia
11-14-2003, 01:33 PM

Don't be aworryin’ about heat from Isa wings. A cup or two of me soothin’ eggnog should put out any fire in yer bellies. :) On the other hand, the heat and rum just might make ye burst into flames  . (May need to consider bringing along fire extinguisher or extra lengths of garden hose :P ).

I am thinking I will have to make some homemade bread to soak up various spices and boozes

Countess Mary
11-19-2003, 07:04 AM
Ok, I'm bringing some sort of a pasta salad. More food to soak up the liquid refreshment. I'll also bring a drop of two of cognac. Lady Ernmas and I will make sure Sir Thomas gets there without going sixty miles out of his way. Now if I can just make the sleeves on my dress stay tied properly!

Yet another that I can't make it to. Finally have my December childrens schedule and we not only have my kids then, but it looks like we have Gandreck's daughter as well. We'll be having our own party at home! (especially since the 20th is Alayna's birthday :-) ) Kid friendly though! You know us parenting types :-)

Hey guys, Neellaca (aka Colleen) asked me to get a tentative head count for the 20th. So, if you think you are going, if you know you are going or even if you think there might be a chance in Hades you can go, please let her know. Ou can post here or you can PM her, but beware, she won't be answering her PM's until next week. She is still in Ireland. Rough life, huh?

I do know that
Kae, Rae, Jane, Thomas, Countess Mary, Neellaca, Lady Emmris?, Isa, Capitain, Shadow and Nevada have all replied.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Garb.

PS. When it is closer to the time, I will send directions to all who are attendinga nd think they are attending or might attend.

Are we doing the gift exchange? is the cap still 10$ and is it 1 gift per person or per couple?

Kae
12-05-2003, 07:51 PM
Yes to the gift exchange. I say 1 per person. That way couples don't have to fight over what to keep.

The cap is no more than $15. But cost is not a cosideration, just creativity.

Jane already has hers. I want it.

Countess Mary

Lady Ernmas got her gift, too. I want it. Ok, now I have to find something wonderful and creative. Can't wait for Yule. My green velvet shoes finally arrived to go with my dress. :D Now I just have to redo the ties on the sleeves so that I don't come untied every two minutes.

Kae
12-19-2003, 09:12 AM

We would love to have any and all there.

Again, give me a PM and I will send out directions. Or if you already have my cell phone or Rae's, holler at us. (As I said, Neelloca's computer is in bits on my floor, so I get to be her person to communicate through.)

I might, MIGHT be there. If I am, I'll bring a White Elephant gift and Green Bean Casserole. It's not really carb-friendly, but it's tasty. I will be needing directions out there and some general info as to when it starts.

Thanks!
