A young girl whose lemonade stand was robbed of $17.50 chased the suspect into a nearby home and called police, who spent nearly an hour trying to coax the man into surrendering.

Hell, this is something I would do, probably by instinct.

I'm glad he didn't have a weapon though.

Seriously - how low do you have to be to rob a friggin lemonade stand?!? :irked:

It’s a bit above beating your own kid to death, but below stiffing the lemonade stand money for a drink. I’m glad the kid wasn’t harmed and got her money back. And now police can charge him for theft.

I am talking about the guy. He saw an easy mark and took it; alot easier that ripping off a store. Some people are in such financial straights that they will do anything for money, including stealing from children.

I just saw this story on the television. The 19 year old who robbed the stand looked kind of sketchy to me.

I am talking about the guy. He saw an easy mark and took it; alot easier that ripping off a store. Some people are in such financial straights that they will do anything for money, including stealing from children.

..or some people are just assholes. I try not to assume a positive intent unless it's otherwise presented to me. Too many people in this world (ie: the two girls who stole from goddamn GIRLSCOUTS just because) are just plain horrid people

I was going to say more...like he looked like the kind of kid who in high school was picked on and in turn picked on others MUCH smaller than him or younger. Not to mention that he looked like the kind of kid who has mental deficiencies. I didn't say this before, because, well, how would I know this from seeing him on television for a few minutes? Because, well, I remember his type from when I was in high school and I'm a stereotyping-bitch. Not to mention that he DID steal money from children working at a lemonade stand, that has to say something right there about his mental faculties.
