Okay okay... so I just watched this stupid bitch being interviewed by Meredith Viera on NBC's Today show.

What a crock of shit -- this woman admitted she wore these panties a couple of times and is now suing -- a year later -- Victoria's secret for a defective product.

First off -- she's NO skinny girl. Umm - hello! Fat women can't wear most VC garmets! They are too small!

Second -- Umm -- you are 52, lady. Not 22.

Third -- saw her interview. She was wearing this LOW cut top and had attitude. I could tell by her body language she was SO full of shit. Plus, she got all offended at one point and her atty motioned her with his hand to not to speak and he would answer for her.

Don't have a video of it, but I'm sure it will be up on YouTube within the hour.

These people just make me sick.

From the Smoking Gun:

JUNE 17--As she was attempting to put on a Victoria's Secret thong, a Los Angeles woman claims that a decorative metallic piece flew off the garment and struck her in the eye, causing injuries and a new product liability lawsuit against the underwear giant. Macrida Patterson, 52, alleges that she was hurt last May by a defective "low-rise v-string (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/0617081secrets4.html)" from the Victoria's Secret "Sexy Little Thing" line, according to a lawsuit filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Saw this last night on the local news. The anchors couldn't even keep straight faces while reporting it.

Yup, I agree.

I'm calling BS on this one.
People sue for the stupidest things.
Sad thing is, she'll probably get some sort of settlement just to shut her up.

Here's the interview on NBC's own website. You be the judge.

Oh for.... she needs to put on her big girl panties (that fit) and move on. I am so sick of the "it's not MY fault!", attitude. It goes so well with her I'm entitled to _______ crap. Yep, I say BULLSHIT! :unamused:

Umm, she might want to consider wearing a bra...I'm just sayin'.

And welcome to America, land of the free (to sue anybody for anything), where you too can do stupid things, hurt yourself, and blame someone else.

I think it's telling that they won't turn over the thong for examination... And as for the idiot (IMHO, anyway) attorney's comment about the place they put a decoration with sharp, pointed edges being a natural 'stress point' on any undergarment... umm, yeah, that's why most women's underwear has a frickin' seam there!

She'll probably win just to shut her up, which is sad. I would LOVE for it to go to trial and the jury (and judge) to rule in favor of VS, leaving her stuck with 1. looking like an idiot, and 2. attorney fees she'll have to pay for herself.

Yeah, I agree about the attorney part. I work with plenty of good attorneys. I also work with plenty of bad attorneys. He is the latter. :unamused:

Google the "Stella Awards"...

Aka - Old lady sued McDonald's for her coffee spilling in her lap and causing 3rd degree burns. Whodathunk coffee would be hot?

Wow- just watched the 'thong' clip. This woman just oozes of 'I'm looking for money'....and her lawyer equally ridiculous. Commenting on a point he made that 'this thong is dangerous with the sharp metal object on it'.....uh, why did the lady buy it if it was so dangerous ..??

Stupid people.......

How'd I know somebody was gonna bring up Stella? :unamused:

Fallon, love - you should know better. Whoda thunk, indeed. SKIN GRAFTS?!? THIRD DEGREE BURNS?!? Her pants MELTED TO HER BODY.

PLUS the fact that McDonald's was told numerous times that their coffee was kept at a temperature "too hot for human consumption" and yet they still insisted on doing so.

All Stella wanted was her medical bills paid for. When McDucks refused, she got a lawyer.

Stella was wronged by McDucks, and continues to be wronged by people spreading these untruths about her case, as an 'example' of frivolous lawsuits.

Hers wasn't frivolous. Many are, I get that. But hers shouldn't be lumped in there.

Instead of the scene from the movie "A Christmas Story" with the BB gun, today's version will be mom's telling their teenage daughters " No- you're not getting a thong! You'll poke your eye out!" :ow:

Uh...looked to me that the 'dangerous part' (ya know, the one she saw before she bought the thong and then decided to buy it anyway) was on the backside of the thong! Now, I don't know about any of you, but I'm not generally looking at my ass when I'm putting my undies on!

I bet she was putting it on backwards...ya know, wider area to cover her booty and thinner area to try to cover her who-ha.

That's exactly what my rogue said. In order for her freakin' EYE to be bombarded, she would have to be looking backward at her ass or her hip.

Hey dumbass-- itty-bitty-smaller-than-my-titty thongs like that aren't meant to be worn by larger women!

The only point I will agree with the attorney is their stance that they won't send the item back to VC. It IS the piece of evidence, after all. :unamused: However, if this bs makes it to trial, all VC has to do is prove the size of her item... and then prove the size of stupid's butt.

Yaknow, I'm sorry if she got hit in the eye. But ya don't sue the company a year later over an item you have used, washed, used, and washed again with no problems!

I don't wear thongs so I didn't pick up on the fact that the decoration was on the backside of it but all I could think this morning while listening to this was how on earth was she putting the underwear on?????

When I am getting dressed, I bend over a bit to get my feet through the holes in my panties, but then I straighten up. My eyes are nowhere near my undies!

Plus, if I was going to appear on national television (especially on a morning show) I would not want my saggy titties showing to the world!!!!

OR

Her and her play mate of choice were using her thongs as sling shots Shooting cream puffs at each other....she had the one with the heart and she over extended in the pull back and blamo!! right in the eye....*rotfl**rotfl**rotfl*

And Honestly why is she wearing evening clothes ...ok going to the bar and pick me up a play mate clothes in the morning???? Meredeth was trying so hard not to laugh.

Put on proper attire when being interviewed and a bra too.

Hell I am a big Girl and I have a pare of thongs with a heart on them but I got them from LB's....Not VC..... cause Hell she DON'T Have any of my secrets!!!

This entire thing made my head hurt.
And my ass. And my who-ha.

Being injured by a thong. Jesus Jimminy Christmas Christ on a toasted wheat cracker!

She must've been looking at her ass thinking in Paris Hilton thoughts, "Look at me. I wear hot clothes and I look hot in them. Let me grab my 50 year old butt. Yeah, I'm so sexy."

I'd hate to think what she was thinking if she was wearing the thing the wrong way. ::shiver::

I was thinking of another song. I don't know who wrote it maybe some kind of rapper a few years back. But some comedian spinned it to say, "Thong..thong, thong...thong...thong."

Okay, first of all she is not THAT fat that she shouldn't be wearing a thong. I am about 50 pounds overweight and I wear them all the time.

Second of all, yeah she is an idiot for trying to buy items from VS being a larger woman.

Third, I didn't see the "tits falling out" that everyone is claiming. Yes, maybe the outfit wasn't that appropriate for TV, but geeze people, get a freakin' grip!!! We fat people like to look pretty and sexy, too.

And no, I am not saying this tongue in cheek, this is serious.

I'm a larger person than you Bean, and no, her breasts are not 'hanging out' however they are unpleasantly exposed in a very unsupported manner that to many is tasteless. We all have a different POV on what 'fat' is. I personally don't like the term and don't refer to people that way but other people do and I can either get ticked off at it or bypass it and concentrate on the topic at hand. I'm a larger woman and yep...I like to look sexy if I can. VS does, in fact, sell certain items for slightly larger folks.

I am more than 50 pounds overweight and I still wear them. But I am not stupid. I buy them *in my size.* They make them for us big girls too. But that thong was not meant for a bigger girl. And when you try to wear something not meant for your size, you can't be surprised when it breaks.

I didn't see the tits thing at first either. I mean, yeah, the outfit's crap, and it really isn't appropriate for tv, but I agree with you, we like looking sexy too. However, I wouldn't dream of going out in public without a bra unless I'm wearing something like a bodice that doesn't require one. I can't imagine not wearing one when you are well-endowed. It's just not comfortable. But, to each her own, I guess.
