This is more fluffy than funny. First, I have to preface this with a sort of explanation. Nov 2006 my maternal grandfather passed away. He was a super fantastic man. He was human as anyone but also lived a full and at the end, peaceful life surrounded by friends and family. I wish I had the words for how I feel about him.
So this was Scott's and my first father's day. I decided to do something special for the future father to be. It got delayed and we just got to work on the gift last night. What I did was I took him (without telling him) to Build A Bear and had him make a bear all on his own just from him. Although I thought he may be kind of hesitant about it, he ended up getting into it. He even got the little chip that sings a lullaby and made sure he chose one that didn't have part that could come off to choke the baby. So we get done and get to the naming stage of the procedure. He was like "I didn't know I would have to NAME him!" So, I look at him and tell him to just think about who would be the baby's best friend. He comes out what seemed rather randomly with George. I start typing it in and say to him, "hey that's my grandfather's name". He just grins at me and says something like "Yeah I know". I can't say how much that moment touched me!
Just another wonderful moment that reminds me why and how much I love that man!
