Ok, I'm looking for something specific and can't find it so I'm turning to the font of all crafty wisdom.
I'm looking for pin findings to make plume pins, kind of like a little metal vase that I can put plumes in and pin to a hat pin. I hoped that I explained that well.
Thanks
Margaret

Oh - I know there are such things like large bolo tips. Cone shaped metal thingies (<--- that's a technical term, I assure you ;-) )
Off to find them.....

This one falls into the 'pricey but pretty category'
I got basic ones in the wedding section of my local JoAnn's for $4, I think. I know they weren't much, and they had both gold tone and silver tone.

I think they are also called "aglets." They are also sold by Pillaged Village on their website.

I put "aglet" in the search box and they have several different kinds. The seamstress that makes our garb and hats, Lady Kathleen of Olmsted, uses them at the ends of the lacing and to hold the plumes for our hats, and I know she gets them from Pillaged Village. They are very nice to look at, too.

Thank you all. I found exactly what I was looking for at JoAnn's for $1.99. I ordered 4 of them and some feathers and plumes from Lamplighter. Time to make some proper hat pins.
Ooooo..... what is this "Lamplighter" you speak of for feathers??
never mind, found it.
Yeah, so I just placed a $56 order for boas and feathers from that place...... it sure is nice to have a job again.

Lamplight Feathers. I have been pleased with the price and quality of the stuff I've gotten from them.

psssst! They've also been listed in the Handbook (http://www.wenchhandbook.com/viewforum.php?f=8&sid=6f7d295b0c439f53c337161dc6400961) for quite some time...
