Made it home safe and sound, but I think I remember texting you to let you know...I don't remember, I was tired. Nothing like driving through a hurricane in the middle of Ohio, eh? :)

Yea you did. :-D BTW...I STILL don't have power. Had to throw an entire fridge full of food away yesterday. :unamused:
After Ike got through with us, he headed for ya'll. I have a full house size propane generator so I've been storing people's food for them. We lost trees, roofs, phones, electric in my area. We've been told not to expect electricity before October 19th. My sister had a beach house on Crystal Beach. It is gone. So gone we can't find any sign of where it was. She lost electric, phone, 3 trees (big ones) and 3/4 of her wooden fence. She was in Conroe. I'm outside of Willis.
Neighbors are coming to my house for water, food, ice, hot showers.

I know this isn't much, but for those of you that lost trees, you can take that off your taxes...if it is still allowed. Check into it. As I said, it isn't much, but every little bit helps.
We were out of TX when Ike hit. We watched it on TV. It was unbelievable.
Bless all of you that are still dealing with the terror of Ike.

We're out towards Katy. Fence & trees down, some shingles, no power, etc. until late Tuesday. I came home Thursday & was amazed at how many trees were either completely down or split down the middle. But we're okay & grateful that things aren't worse.
I've spent the last 1.5 hours on the phone with my sister trying to remember everything that was in the beach house. Some of the things she lost were from our parents' estate. Can never be replaced.

Awful, just awful.
Generator started making funny noises. It needed oil, it has an automobile engine in it. Got the neighbors to help me with it and we were almost done and guess what...
The ELECTRICITY came back on! Terri & Lonnie wanted to know how I knew and I pointed at the security light in my front yard that wasn't on the generator.

Upon checking in on the furbabes tonight, I still do not have power. :cuss::tantrum:
Glad to hear you got yours back though! :-D
I was totally surprised. Entergy was not going to release any part of the grid to SHECO until all Entergy customers were back in service. Somehow or another they screwed up (vs down) and we got it before Oct 19th which was last date we heard.
