So who's watching? It's pretty sedate so far. Early winner for me is Tom Brokaw, really.

I think Tom's going to blow a gasket if he has to remind these boys a third time to keep the responses short within the time limits.

I think he just narrowly avoided it!

ETA: I wish to freakin' G-d they'd stop talking about what the other guy "thinks." It wastes enormous amounts of time when said other guy has to fight back. I don't give a damn about what you think they're doing. Answer the damn question. Tell me what YOU'RE going to do, not what he did.

Danke, liebchen!

ETA: While it is interesting to note that both candidates are left handed, I don't fucking care. 6:45 mark.

Oh now c'mon, Yso! They are politicians. They don't know any better! ;-) Hell, we're lucky if they're housebroken!

They both are sounding like little boys! "I'm doing what John is doing..." "He is going to fine you..." This sounds like the last one. I took debate in high school and the debates never sounded like this. This is boring::sleepy::

See, I've seen too many politicians who got into the business because they wanted to do good to believe that of all of them. Dennis Kucinich, for example, may be an absolute kook, but you have to believe he has only the best interests of his constituents in mind. Paul Wellstone was like that, G-d rest him. I like Tom Harkin of Iowa, who was someone I had to research for a few months in 2002. I love Eddie Rendell here in PA-- he used to be my neighbour.

They are out there.

I'm playing the drinking game.

TAKE A SHOT:
-When the buzzwords “change” or “maverick” or “hope” are used
-When someone says “I voted for or against” or “He voted for or against”
-When McCain refers to Obama’s “inexperience”
-When McCain stammers and looks like he might have a heart attack
-When McCain somehow works in his personal story as a POW during Vietnam
-When McCain refers to the moderator as “my friend” or the audience as “my friends”
-When Obama somehow works in his personal story of being raised by a single mom and his grandparents
-When Obama makes a smirk, shakes his head, and says, “Now wait just a minute…” or “hold on there…”
-When Obama makes the case that McCain and Bush are one and the same or uses the phrase “more of the same”
-When Obama talks about “multi-tasking” or having to address more than one crisis at a time as president
-WHen Obama begins a sentance with "Look" (double if it's "uh-uh-uh Look.)
-When either one lays claims to being “bipartisan” or working “across the aisle”
-It’s a Social when Sarah Palin is mentioned!
-Finish whatever you are drinking if McCain loses his temper!

Oh, damn, I just had to take another drink...and it's only Obama's response.

Well they sort of HALF answered it. They just didn't point out How they would know when they had learned it.

Yup. Tom Brokaw won the debate. He's just the "hired help", though. *rotfl*

Right, you posted it.

I get confused because there's another completely different forum I participate in and I frequently post cool things here that I find there and vica-versa, so I forgot which direction the Bartlet stuff went in.

Watched the entire first season disc 1 last night/this morning. "The Crackpots and These Women"-- the scene with Josh playing "Ave Maria" in his office and telling C.J. about the next national catastrophe...G-d, that's amazing. And the closing scene of "The State Dinner," with Jed sinking to his knees to pray while talking to "the kid on the radio" as the ship battles a hurricane-- that scene just makes me cry. Always.

G-d, what an amazing show.
