BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - A Connecticut judge has given the brush-off to a blonde woman's lawsuit claiming L'Oreal Inc. ruined her social life when she accidentally dyed her hair brunette with one of its products.
Charlotte Feeney of Stratford says she can never return to her natural blonde hue, a shock that left her so traumatized she needed anti-depressants.
She says she suffered headaches and anxiety, missed the attention that blondes receive and had to stay home and wear hats most of the time.
A Superior Court judge dismissed Feeney's 2005 lawsuit Monday, saying she never proved her allegation that L'Oreal put brown hair dye in a box labeled as blonde. The company also had disputed the claim.
Feeney's attorney, David Laudano, declined to comment and she could not be reached after the judge's decision.

Wow poor woman - her hair NEVER grows so she can't go back to her natural color with dye and then let it grow out!!!! :unamused:
(especially since if she were dying her hair blonde she wasn't her "natural color" anyway).....

Tort reform.....
Don't you mean "Tart" Reform?
She'll just have to socialize like the rest of us poor, misbegotten non-blondes.

So her blonde hair was messed up. Meh.
If the damaged hair were red on the other hand, well... let's just say the defendant would not want me on the jury. ;-)
Can civil juries recommend the death penalty?

There are probably blondes with no teeth and missing limbs having more fun than me right now. Ugh
This lawsuit though? OH legal system, you never fail to make me smile

Yeah, it's totally one of those situations where both barrels are loaded and primed...and then you just decide it's not worth wasting the powder....

The one time a box labeled red turned my hair purple, the only thing I thought was "cool!"

*snort* As a natural blonde, and an ex-hair stylist I have to call "bull-shit" on this one....as in she's full of. Of course she can go back to her natural color, Gods these idiots give intelligent blondes a bad name. :unamused:

Ayup. This one time, in band ca-- er, I mean, high school, I was trying to undo some major Sun-In damage, and very unfortunately went from an unintended crinitory chiaroscuro to an even more unintended post-punk aubergine.
I assure you, this is something fine and wonderful when you are a bright and fearless gothchick. When you have not yet reached that stage, and are merely a shy and retiring high-school wallflower, as I was-- oh, fun times, fun times.

I have naturally dark hair, and the Sun-In made it...oh, G-d. Straw-like and pale. Ugh. It was a study in light and dark: chiaroscuro. After a good deal of my parents' money and several hours of my life I will never get back, it became somewhat better in texture, and the exact colour of an almost-ripe eggplant.
"Crinitory" means having to do with hair. "Tonsorial" means having to do with barbering. And for good measure, "Sartorial" means having to do with clothing, and "epistolary" means in the form of letters.
See? I'm so useful.

"Tonsorial" means having to do with barbering.
I had my tonsorials removed when I was in kindergarten, but I think a surgeon did it, not a barber.

Bob - I don't care what everyone says about you - you're OK in my book. And I like your sense of danger and your devil may care attitude. It takes a man with cast iron balls to truly embrace a redheaded woman!

Dang that is sexy talk.....go on say some more
Having dark hair I can imagine how poorly some colors can take. I have been blessed to never be green, but sea water and chlorine once did a number on my hair.

Thankfully my hair will NOT retain color or perms for long. I have made a number of horrible errors in the past and have vowed never to repeat them again. After I graduated from HS I decided to try to go to a Strawberry Blonde from that of regular blonde. The results were not strawberry blonde. More like Strawberry Shortcake meets Frenchie. My hair did not stay that color for long. I was lucky to have the color wash & fade out within a week to a week an a half. Perms and waves will last about as long as well.
