I don't think she was attacked BECAUSE she's a McCain supporter, but I think the guy who did it saw an additional way to injure and humiliate her. Maybe he even saw it as justification.

I also think he should have his fucking balls removed with an acetylene torch.

I just read this morning that they have now reviewed the security tapes at the ATM she alleges she was attacked at... and they now want her to take a polygraph test.

The "B" in her face is backwards which could suggest she did it herself in a mirror. She says it was done with a knife but it looks more like a deep scratch.

It took place at an ATM. Every ATM in the country for 20 years now has had a video camera and it looks like there's nothing on the tape.

She also refused medical treatment after going to the police.

Lots of people have beaten themselves up in order to frame someone else. In this case the girl knows she'd also become famous.

Not saying this is all the truth...but there's questions that need to be answered.

To my mind, either yes, or someone "helped." Apparently her description of events doesn't match what the ATM camera caught, and concerns were raised about how clean the "B" scratched into her face is, as well as the depth (and orientation) of the cut.

It's also possible he had her on the ground and did it from above her head so it was right way around to him but backwards when she stands up.

It's also possible she did it herself... Hopefully the police will share their findings with the rest of us; every account/article I've seen has a slightly different story from the victim.

The skeptical part of me: I know several people who can fake a black eye and the B scratch.

Kinda throws that theory out the window.

Something smells of this story. I agree.

If she's crying wolf to get attention-- which adds to the troubles many victims of violence already face ("Did that really happen? You're faking it! You just want sympathy!")-- I just feel terrible.

And it's interesting that her MySpace page has the tagline "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her cloths off, but its better if you do."

At least she has the good taste to quote the play/movie Closer by Patrick Marber... And it's a fabulously brutal play dealing with lies, sex, and trying to make a real connection with people.

The first time I ever heard someone say, "She says she was raped, but...I can't believe her," I think something in my head broke. Half for my friend, who was horrified to have to doubt his friend, and half that ANYONE would use a story like that to garner sympathy.

I despise people who make up huge sob stories for attention. I despise them most when someone who actually HAS been victimised tells their story, and part of my brain now instinctively says, "Waaaaitaminnit...."

It's why I want to bitchslap people who run ONTO Septa busses after they've had an accident so they can file a claim and sue. Scum. Just scum.

we were talking about this last night when my rogue got home. and he said you know mcacin and palin called her after this "attack". and i asked whether it was before or after everyone know it was a hoax. and he said before and i pointed out that if they hadn't have called and it was true everyone would have roasted them for not calling. i'm not going to hold it against them that they called.

well then he said, yeah but if you get attacked you're not going to get a call from the pres and vp. and i pointed out that she was in pittsburg to campaign for them and IF it had been real it would have been a nice gesture. and i said "what would jed barlett do?" and my rogue said "yeah he'd call". and i said "and leo would have said...?" and he said "exactly what i said, the pres and vp don't have to call." and i said and "barlett would have said..?" "DEBBIE! get a number for that girl and get her on the phone!"

OMG!!!!! I grew up in Michigan and graduated from the University of Minnesota. Painting a Buckeye anywhere would be a sacriledge!

OK - she looks a lot like the 20-year-old KC Art Institute student who rides my bus on occasion. I'm serious - same look on her face, but at least this one has a sweat shirt on - our little art crazy wears stuff like nylon camis (the undergarment kind - not the cute outter wear kind) over her DDs and seems completely oblivious to anyone around her. She'll cut to the front of the line to get on the bus when 20 people have been waiting before her.

I think it might be the misuse of contact cement. LOL
