You are SO in trouble now, girlfriend! What kind is it?

um....a Brother...two needle variety.

Dunno if it's a good 'un or a bad'un, only that now I gots to figure out just how the hell to USE it. My sewing machine scared me at first...now I'm looking at four threads, two needles, and blades. Yikes.

And my sewing machine is in the shop. :( Right in the middle of my projects last night...I could have finished all the machine work last night, but no...it had to go a start skipping stitches. Badly. So now, I"m waiting for it to be retimed and cleaned and greased...$69. Man. sewing was supposed to SAVE me money...not cause me to spend hundreds on fabrics and maintenance of ornery gadgets. :)

Now my new thing is blackwork....but no stores in my area carry books on it, and I think I need waste canvas to work my garb, and no one carries that, either, unless you want little squares of 14 count stuff. So I have to order it all on line, and that means using my darn credit card, which I swore off of doing....but I got the bug, gal. I got it!

Wait til you see my new cloak. Made it specially for PA in October, which is when I plan on coming up next season. Heavy twill, with a flannel lining, and a capelet to help block wind and wet. Should keep me comfy in cold weather, so long as it's not freezing...and while it'll be a bit warm for Florida, it'll be nice and toasty during our cold snaps of forty or so....

I miss you!!!!

Bonnie, baby, I feel your pain-- I bought an antique Singer a couple of years ago for $40, with its own table. Made in 1938. Lovely thing. I spent $60--$75 to get it cleaned and re-everything'd, and it STILL doesn't work. But for Channuka this year, whoohoo! I got a brand-new Kenmore, which is really a White with a name-change. Which means I retire my mom's 30-year-old Brother. Which still works, but needs a long, long vacation.

That's a long-winded way of telling you, btw, that Brother generally makes good machines.

And as for next year, I can't wait to see you! What other new garb bits can we look for from you? And what else have you been up to?

MWAH!

So, Bonnie, you wanna be a long-distance stitcher for Stockwood? Hell, does ANYONE want to sew for Stockwood? I'd rather have too many stitchers than too few.

Seven costume sketches down, only eighteen to go....

my darling, I'd love to help you, but I'm rather afraid that any 'help' I tendered would set you further back than forward. I'm not so good at this sewing thing to want to inflict myself on someone who is actually trying to promote themself.

SNARF!

At this point, baby, I just want the show done without my having to kill anyone-- myself included! I don't know how the hell I'm going to get that corset show put together. THAT'S the one I'm going to use to promote me. Stockwood's going to look great on my resume, but it's an ensemble effort.

And don't sell yourself short, girlfriend. You're fabulous.
