Fair Ribbons

Okay...from what I can tell is that some locals have local colors that they display ribbon form with their pin...who is interested in having colors for our local and doing the same? I will crosspost on the TXIWG board this evening

Does IWG have official colors?

It's looking like purple is a wench favorite.... Could we incorporate some sort of IWG color scheme, along with the yellow rose?

I like the pink ribbon idea, that's pretty cool.

Also lots of Ren Wear is black and I am not sure it would show up.

That was one of the reasons I was thinking that Yellow and Pink would work. They would stand out on costumes casuing people to ask about them.

If you don't mind a Yankee piping up, Local #9 and Local #42 chose ribbon colours from our respective State flags.

Its a cute idea, but if we wore red,white and blue, people might think we were wearing memorial ribbons or something.

I like the pink and yellow, but maybe purple as a third, as it does seem to be the unoffical wench colour.

I agree with the red white and blue comment representing memorial day. A number of fairegoers wear those colors on memorial day weekend to proclaim their veteran status, as well.

As for black, I'm not wild for that particular choice, not because a number of my clothes are black (although that's true) but rather because it seems kinda morbid. Death and the IWG.. No no no! I'm all for joie de vivre here. :)

Black in memory of all the Wenches and women who went before us that made it possible for us to vote, make choices about our own bodies, and be the Wench we were meant to be...I like things in 3's ..personal quirk...

There once was a play called "The perfect 36" and it was about the women who faught for our right to vote. The shows "theme" colors were purple and yellow. (So the purple could in a round about way represent those who walked before us.)

I agree with paying respect to those before us but is a black ribbon the way to go? Wouldn't it be more in their honor to be ourselves. Proud of our rights, and behave in a manor befiting a wench?

With all of the previous postings it sounds like yellow, pink, and purple is the "hot choice"

I can appreciate Nevada's liking of things in three's. Everyone has their own number that they like. At this point I think we should come up with the three colors we want to use. Then individuals can combine them however they like.

It appeared from what I was reading there that several more options have appeared.

As I said on the other site. . . it is nice to have things in threes but maybe we should just stick with two.

In my opinion the point of the ribbons is to bring attention to our pins, which leads to questions, which leads to more members and friends.

(I forgot the friends part on the other post but I was thinking it.)

If you are not on that Yahoo group, send me your choices and I will forward them to the appropriate people to ensure the poll reflects as many of us in Local 13 as possible.
