 Sorry, I had to do it... it was just too tempting... a new forum, and no posts listed... I guess I should talk about something Health related, ne?
Anyway, I'm about to embark on my personal-fitness journey. A friend has offered to teach the gals of ROSK to bellydance, and I'm helping her organize the time/place. I'm so excited. I've got the Veena/Neena videos, and I'm getting the hang of the hip movements, but the shoulder movements and neckslides have been eluding me. I learn better with a knowledgable spotter/teacher.
I've really missed having a physical activity since I hurt my hands and can't hold a blade anymore. The wonderful Ring of Steel people are trying to find me a weapon I can hold, but we've had no luck so far. (My hands pop open on me when I try to hold a sword the right way. grumble. stupid tendonitis.) Dancing will be a nice alternative.
Besides, I had a chat with my doctor recently, and I've been warned that if my weight keeps going up, my insulin levels are just going to get wackier and keep messing with my hormones, but I just hate excercising without some purpose. Weight machines aren't for me; I need an activity like dancing or swordplay or walking to a destination. Here's hoping I can get myself back to a healthy level of leg/arm muscles. ^_^

 THANKS! This is great :)

Oh bellydancing! If I didn't live in the middle of nowhere I'd take lessons myself. I have the Goddess Workout DVD's - great music and fun. Don't know how much of a workout it is but makes me feel good :)

I have some of the Veena/Neena videos too. I have spent more time watching than doing them. I keep waiting for the hip to heal up... and then I turn on the DVD player and the hip says "big comfy couch time".

I also have Zumba. Amusing... and will be fun once I can do them

ooh, I hadn't thought of war hammer... I'll have to see if Ring teaches that. ^_^
I've got the belly rolls down, now. Haven't really gotten the hang of the other moves, but that one's starting to look better. Odd thing, I've dropped about 4 pounds and gained a lot of belly-muscle tone just from doing those sporadically throughout the day. It makes me feel much better to be able to suck in my gut a bit when I try.
