A diet/health plan "I" can stick to... biggest issue, I am lazy, not just hey while you're up get me a beer lazy, but will send my kids to the store if I could.
I want a way to lose weight that works with the fact I work from home, at a computer all day, that I think exercise is walking to move laundry from washer to dryer and diet is less half and half in my morning coffee.
I can not afford *cause of distance* to a gym or WW. I am far to lazy to work out at home, hell I have all the DVD's.
So ladies, any ideas...

Sadly, Tink....the only proper way to lose weight is with eating less/better and exercise. But! The good news is it takes 30 days to make something a habit. So if you can force yourself to exercise (Tae Bo is great) for 30 days, (keep chanting your mantra "Only 30 days, only 30 days") you may find it much easier by the time you get to day #30 to keep going. Also, exercise makes you energized, so you may not be so lazy after.
I know it's probably not what you want to here, but it's true.

Yeah I know.. I finally gave in and called curves today, I am going to talk with then THurs... let's see how much they want, it is less than 2 miles from my house, cuase getting me moving is easier than me not eating the crap I do.

Well weight watchers has a thing you can do on the internet...can't remember what it is right off the top of my head.. but its helpful.. if you go to weight watchers.com... it should have a link to it.
Curves is ok.. but after a while I had to move to a real gym (not that I got alot) but I did like the fact while at curves there were lots of fluffy women there. and was very friendly place.

That's close enough that you could add walking there and back to the exercise regimen! That is, once the exercize habit kicks in...

I wish we lived near each other to work out together....
I was lamenting about this issue yesterday with a co-worker and she said she'd like to walk after work. So we start tomorrow and plan to walk the campus every Monday/Weds/Friday.
In between Ihope to do some weights and my pilates on my own, but just having a work-out partner is such a good way to stay motivated.

Since you work at home, the South Beach diet might work well for you. One of the major issues that many people have is that it requires a lot of food prep/cooking - but it's REALLY healthy, and many people lose 10-12 lbs in the first two-three weeks. :)

I love South Beach! And it is so much more easy to follow now than it used to be... with eating out and such. I have done Atkins before, which worked wonders for me, but it was modified to be a hybrid Atkins/South Beach, which I had also done before. A friends father was a patient of Dr. Agatston and I got a copy of his handout when I lived in Miami.
All I know is my system really likes both DIEts.

i do the weight watchers online. it's so easy. especially if you're addicted to your comp like i am. and it's cheaper than going in person. it's $15 a month, instead of $12 a week, everythings online and you don't have to go to the whine-a-thons and have the person weighing you in yell at you. i've lost 10 pounds so far and go down 2 sizes.

I've done weight watchers before. I hit my goal weight in 1989 and haven't been within 10 lbs since. I really think it's a great program.
Well balanced diet a nd adaptable so your more likely to stick with it.
But for me , I needed to go to meetings every week. I neded the support and the close watch on slow steady progress. When the money got too tight for me to continue going every week I couldn't stay motivated.
The best thing I every did was join a cardio kickboking class at a serious karate studio. I never pushed myself so hard before and it felt great.
Again I had to drop it when money got tight.
I did a trail week at Curves but after the kickboxing it didn't feel like I was doing anything. Of course it is certainly better than the nothing that I am doing now.
So now that it's getting warmer I am going to start walking regularly. And I really do want to start pilates. I bought a tape so I can't use the money excuse.
Whatever you decide to do I wish you well.
