J.C. Ian Sawyer, a young rogue in his prime died suddenly on Friday while doing site work at our FLARF North location.

His home faire was FLARF (Florida Renaissance Festival)

A word from Lars:

As far as I can glean, he suffered an aneurism while helping to strike the stages down at the Live Oak Faire last Friday. I knew him to be a very good-natured, industrious and clever fellow. Death has robbed us all of another of the Good Guys, I'm afraid.

I'd like to add that I also knew Ian. We met at Tux (NYRF) this past season. He camped right behind me and my Rogue. He was funny, sweet, and always met folks with a smile. I will miss him.

Ian is Survived by his father. Memorial services will be held this Saturday. I believe details will follow.

Yeah... this was what I was talking about all week.

Ian Sawyer, who has been part of the Florida Renaissance Festival
for many years and was the shows sound man this year, passed away
last Friday in Live Oak. Cause of death is yet to be determined.

There will be a memorial service for Ian at The Unity Church in
Hollywood, 2750 Van Buren Street @ 2pm, Saturday, March 27.
There is also a Renaissance style Irish wake scheduled for 7pm at
the Rose & Crown (Pub), 3680 W. Commercial Blvd. in Ft. Laud.

Both events are garb optional. Ian's dad, Edward Conrad Sawyer,
feels that as this is the lifestyle that Ian embraced, he wants
those who loved him to dress as they feel comfortable as they
celebrate his life and say goodbye.

Donations toward funeral expenses in the name of Edward Conrad
Sawyer will be gratefully accepted.

Mr. Sawyer's address for cards is: (MAIL ME PRIVATELY)

Directions to the Unity Church:
I-95 to Hollywood Blvd., east to 28th Avenue, south to Van
Buren, east to 2750 Van Buren on the south side of the street.

Directions to the Rose & Crown:
I-95 to Commercial Blvd., exit west and it's on the south
side, between 31st. Ave and 441 (State Rd. 7). or take the Turnpike
to Commercial Blvd and head East.

Geez, Bonnie...I am sorry. I didn't even get the connection.

The crew here in NY is very sad over his passing. He will be missed.
