Hey Everyone! Your Friendly Neighborhood 'Tart here, trying to avoid working on my end of year accounts at work... especially since there's stuff missing from Sept and Oct, and I don't know where it is, as I wasn't here at the time. AHHHHH!!
Ok, moving right along.... I thought I'd start up a topic of conversation, since I'm totally frazzled, and brain fried, and in general, missed talking to my friends for the past few weeks.
Ok, so that was yet another tangent... Here's my topic of conversation.
If you could have one piece of garb from any movie/painting/story what would it be?
My choices: the red velvet gown from Ever After, Mina's green velvet robe from Dracula, or the red gown from Dangerous Beauty (when she tells Marco that his heart is higher) *G* can you tell I'm in a red mood today?
If we're going for non-renaissance, Hindi wedding gown from Moulin Rouge, or the black gown from the Gothic Tower scene. I'd also kill for a good 1880's bustle gown, but can't think of which movie I'd want it from...
Your turn! I'm sure that I'll think of lots of others I'd kill to have as others post.

Hmm...
I'd love Geena Davis' entire wardrobe from Cutthroat Island. *lol* But especially her frock coat...
Oooh...Katharina's riding cloak from "Sleepy Hollow." DROOL!!!
My brain is thinking of more non-ren stuff than otherwise...
Any of Jodie Foster's kickin' off-shoulder bustle dresses from "Maverick" *drool* Rose's "Heaven" dress from Titanic - the lace one she wears at the end when she's going up the staircase after she dies. Amidala's corset and sheer flower embroidered dress she wears out in the meadow with Annaken in Episode II.
And just because I am *that* goofy, I really want a Hogwart's student uniform, Gryffindor house, and a Gryffindor Quittitch uniform. :D
I'm sure I'll think of more later, too.

This one's easy...
The black dress from Legend.
Course, I would also want to body for it again too...
OH! and the ending outfit that the prositute wears in Brotherhood of the Wolf. The coat and all...including dagger fans!

Great topic, Tart! I was just thinking about things like that the other day.
I would love to have most of Geena Davis' costumes from Cutthroat Island, not to mention the figure to wear them!
And that incredible gown from Everafter that Danielle wore to the ball. I loved the wings and the makeup.
I also loved what Tara wore last season in Once More With Feeling. That incredible corset and skirt. I'm hoping that's the outfit that Moore Action Figures uses for the Tara figure they are going to release this spring.

ok.. this is too hard for me as basically I would just make it for myself if I wanted it that badly..
BUT.. I would love to have a courtesan's wardrobe and figure to wear all the pretties.. :D OOOOOHHHHHhh and some of the pretty Dresses from Elizabeth R with Glenda whatshername that I can't remember at this point in time.

I think that was a Sherri Jurnecka corset. The cut and fabric reminds me of her style. www.jurneckacreations.com
I didn't particularly like the skirt Tara was wearing with it... I think the color could have been better, and the fact that they used white lacing on the corset kind of annoyed me as well, but otherwise, style and cut were both faboo on the whole outfit.

Tart, you are truly my idol! Now I can add the Dragonfly gown on that website that you posted. Okay, I'd 86 the headpiece and the talons on the gloves, but the gown itself is awesome!
back to having the I wants...

In order of preference.
1. Angelica Houston's outfits in 'Mists of Avalon'
2. the Maab outfit in 'Merlin'
3. Any of the courtesan's costumes (especially that coat and tricorn at the end!) from Brotherhood of the Wolf
4. Elizabeth Taylor's and Claudette Colbert's costumes in Cleopatra
5. The elf outfits in LOTR (including the armor)
6. Most of the pirate costumes (and regular costumes) worn by Maureen O'Hara in her pirate movies
7. Some of the costumes J-Lo wore in 'The Cell'
8. Sorcha's armor in 'Willow'

Dammit, I wanted to cop the Black Fairy dress from Legend!
Okay, I'd do with just about anything from Dangerous Beauty-- not just the courtesans' dresses. I like the wedding dress from Princess Bride. There's a gorgeous gown & kirtle from "Riquet With The Tuft" in a collection of world tales I have. Um...there's an Italian gown in a portrait by Titian that I'm in love with. There's the Rose Bride dress from the TV version of Utena that I'd love to make for someone. And I loved Callisto's outfit from the early years of Xena, but I'd have to get the body to fit it right alongside. Relatedly, I'd love the outfit I'm going to put one of the Stockwood actresses in, with the same caveat. Ooo-- the rehearsal dress from Moulin Rouge, or Nini's dress from the opening can-can.
I'm going to remember a million things as soon as I hit "submit"....

Okay now:
Red Dress, Moulin Rouge. You know the one.
Viola's "Presentation Gown" in "Shakepeare in Love" (and her Juliet gown...what the heck) *sigh* LOVED that film!
Helen Mirrin's "Judgement" gown (black and webby, of course) in "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover"
Buttercups red riding dress in "Princess Bride"
Any of Audrey's little black dresses from "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (okay, it's not garb, but who can say no to our Audrey?)
I'll be sure to think of more!

Oooohhhh...... and howabout that leopard skin outfit from "You Don't Impress Me Much"?
Full length leopard skin coat.... drool.....
I'd take all of Sophie Marceau's dresses in Braveheart. I'd like my hair to be long like hers was in it too. *g*

:D Sophia Loren's strapless gold lamé dress from the movie "Houseboat." I've dreamed of having that dress, and a place to wear it, since I grew boobs big enough to hold it up!
And I wouldn't mind one of the leather catsuits that Justice, Chrissy, Sissy, and Missy wore in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." Wheee!

The dress from Edmund Blair Leighton's "The Accolade" as my number one, absolute favorite of all time. Close seconds are the poufy ballgown from Labyrinth, the Lily dresses (the black one and the regular one) from Legend (www.yosa.com-too bad I can't afford them!), most of Lucy's wardrobe from Bram Stoker's Dracula (trying to find that wedding dress somewhere without dropping a fortune!) and the dress the stepmother wore at the end of Sleepy Hollow, that looked like it had vines all over it. I'd wear this stuff all the time if I could get away with it, really.
But I'm not greedy!
Guinevere
Oh oh oh!
Definitely the red dress from Moulin Rouge
The black/white striped dress from sleepy hollow
A black patent leather catsuit - like the one that the girls from Jay & silent bob strike back wore (body included)
The outfit you first see Kate Winslet in, in Titanic (i think its the first dress)
I've got a memory like a sieve, so I can't think of anything... although the back of my mind is going "That dress! the fantasy-like one! from that movie!" Huh? Shush you, you've gone batty.
Any traditional Chinese outfit from a movie, and any "I'm a sexy pin-up doll from the 40's/50's" outfit is on my list too. Oh! The white halter dress marilyn wore to the premiere of the seven year itch! (I think that's the one) I WANT that dress like nothing else. Only... not in white. I'm too clumsy for white.
Now see, if we all pool in our money... maybe we can buy one of these...
