I know most of you are groaning at the thought of another "fad diet" but I picked up the book and dicused this one with my doc and she says it's a really good diet. It's developed by a cardiologist and basically isn't about losing weight but about becoming healthier. The weight loss is an added bonus, I have a friend who lost 42 lbs in 3 months and i read about a woman who went from a size 32 to a size 18, in addition to lowering here bad colesterol, resolving her type 2 diabestes and getting off all her meds.
Has anyone been on it and has a sucess story to share or a dis if warrented I am planning on starting on monday may 24 and will keep you guys updated. Wish me luck.
My info:
23 Y/O
5'2
272 lbs.
Insulin resistant
high colesterol
gal bladder problems
depression due to excess weight
fat on liver
P.S. I don't care how much I weigh I just want to feel sexy again. I will always be true to myself and if this diet turns out to be a detriment to my health I will end it.

Okay chicky doo! You wanted results? I have been one the South Beach way of life since November 22...yes, I started the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving. Getting through the holidays was a feat in itself. When I started I was a size 14. I'm now a small size 8!!! It works...wholey moley! Things you ought to know:
1. You will lose fast in the first Phase, and when you go to Phase 2 it will slow down. DON'T stay on Phase one...very bad! My blood sugar dropped one day after 3 weeks of Phase one and it was awful. Go with the slow loss...
2. This IS a way of life...you can't go on the diet and lose weight then go off and expect to eat the way you used to. You have to be willing to change your eating habits.
3. It will be SOOO easy after Phase one is over...I promise!!! I thought I would just die without pasta, bread or cereal...but you know what??? I haven't touched ANY of it since I started. I just haven't craved it! And before I changed my way of eating, I used to live off of all that high carb food...really!
4. Keep "legal" food in the house and throw away everything else. If it's there, you'll be tempted to eat it. I keep bags of nuts all over the place: purse, car, office desk, next to my recliner..lol. If you get hungry and you snack on a handful of nuts then gulp down a big glass of water... you won't be hungry after that!
5. DRINK LOTS OF WATER  Just like any other diet tells you...hehehe.
Um, there's more, I just can't think of right now. But if I do, I'll post it for you! This is VERY rewarding! I was tickled when my clothes were so big that they were falling off me!!! Shopping will never be the same!
If you have any other questions, PM me! I'll be happy to chat with you about it! Good luck ! :snarf:

A few of my coworkers have done this program. One has been really successful, but he's stuck to the program pretty much to a 't' - and he's lost about 40 pounds or so. The other one doesn't really have her mindset down yet - she keeps modifying the program (i.e., Steak & Shake, margaritas, cake) and can't understand why it's not working.
Good luck with it - hopefully this is the doorway to a new way of living for you!
