Ok here goes. I am hoping to make a bodice for "my first Scarby since I was in diapers" but alas tried the duct tape pattern thing and it was so horribly wrong.
Does anyone have a bodice pattern that they love? (I am amply endowed so I need support)
Also I am using a 100 % cotton how do I make the fabric stronger, Interfacing?
Thanks

Being fluffy all the way around ::sigh:: for now...I was advised to use something stronger like corduroy or upholstery material...ran into another fluffy sister at a JoAnns who was buying some tapestry upholstery material for a bodice...
What kind of style are you looking for? I found a McCall's pattern that's basically a vest laced up the front and EASY to put together. (I don't have the number in front of me, but I can get it.) If you can adjust patterns even a little bit, it looks like it'd be fairly simple to put some boning in there to give it some extra shape and lift. I've made the vest a couple of times for fluffier friends and it goes together easily and looks great. I've been thinking of trying the addition of the boning for myself, but haven't done it yet. It's a goal for TRF.

My best advice is making sure you get good boning (metal). When I first strated out, I was a newbie, and used plastic. I would have been better off inserting drinking straws!!!

ooooh... you can also use the "pvc zip ties" from a hardware store... they are plastic (no rust, no fuss) they are about 1/2" wide, and will hold up my 42DDD fluff, so, they'll probably hold up yours, as well! and you get a whole big bag for about $5. Just cut them with heavy sheers (I use wire cutter, actually) and melt the cut ends with a candle so they don't have rough edges!
HUGS! and Good luck!

*three cheers for zip ties*
I use plastic zip ties exclusively. :) I've used them for myself (a 36B) and lots of clients ranging from that on up.... and everyone loves them.
Machine wash, tumble dry. Can't beat it with a stick. :)

Use a heavy fabric--a havy brocade, cotton twill, etc. I ALWAYS line bodices in cotton twill, no matter what the outer fabric is. You can always interline (add a third layer of heavy fabric) to give it bulk.
Boning, boning, boning. It's possible to have too much--but just barely. ;)

(Who needs to get new pictures of her bodice... perhaps at NCRF. :))
