You can still be a wench but dress up like a lady, right?
For some reason I got the impression that to be a wench, you had to dress like a commoner.
I ask because I've got this big-@$$ gown, but all my "wench" garb that I still have was from when I was still a twig...it don't fit.
I just don't wanna stick out, ya know? Or break any rules...

Yes, you can be a wench and wear nobles. Alianne does it, I do too.
Hope that puts your mind at ease.

I tend to wear my more noble garb to a faire when I am visiting. At MDRF I'll probably indulge in my own dress down Sunday. Who can do metal stays for two days in a row. Just too much standing and sitting up straight for a weekend at my playground

Honey you can be a wench in jeans and a t-shirt. It's the woman not the outfit that makes a wench.

Definitely have to disagree honey. It is the suggestion of the lack of outfit that drives the rogues crazy... not that they are sane to begin with of course. :smooch:

Caitriona beat me to it, but hell, yeah!
It ain't the wardrobe, but the attitude anyway, baby! :)
FWIW, my garb runs the gamut from 'basic Wench', to Elizabethan middles, to Tudor court gear and onwards to Uber-Chick Pirate. :)
(Why yes, I am a REAP and a Garb Whore, thanks so much... ;) )
Still deciding on Saturday's wear, but leaning towards my 'brown mood' -- brocade bodice, a kind of nutmeg brown skirt. Wore the blue Elizabethans last weekend at Tux...not at all sure about Sunday. Maybe if the edema settles down, my Elizabeth's Closet bodice and blue skirt.
Can't wait for my new Elizabethan middles to be done and shipped from California! Woo! I totally looooooove the brodace I bought for them and already have the hat to go with it made, shipped and ready to go.
This does remind me that I really have to download Sinatra's version of 'The Lady is a Tramp', so I can actually write the filk that bits and pieces have been floating around in my head for at least a season -- naturally, it's 'The Lady is a Wench' (to address this very 'issue'...... :D )

You also need to bring me that blue bodice to be finished, woman.

Yes, yes I do! Although I have a horrible feeling that it will all be to no avail. It is double-lined or something (she said, just repeating what she thought she heard Foxglove call it)
Oh well, I tried, right? That's all that counts!
Maybe i'll snag a skirt or something off you guys tomorrow. That'd be spiffy!
Hmm...maybe I'll just come in in my jeans and T-shirt, be anonymous and enjoy myself, spend lots of time bugging you folk. That sounds like lotsa fun.

I know that I am not A PARF wench except for the upcoming visit..
But I wore Nobles for YEARS as a wench.. It just meant that I had the Queen's permission to flirt shamelessly as I would have to do it for both of us. ;)
