Usually White Bone is spring steel bone. If it is plastic, they usually specify that. :) Does that help?
Take a deep breath and calm down.. Sometimes a glass of wine helps the directions seem more clear. :D
And remember, ripping stitches is all part of the learning process . . . :D

(Insert soothing voice here) Yes, 1/2" white boning is the solid steel kind. It's the best, honest, for the period we do. Spiral steels are really best for the really hour-glassy, curvy corsets of Victorian and Edwardian days.
You'll work up to them one day, my heart. It's a one-way path. MUHAHAHAHHAHAHAA!
If you ever have any questions about boning--er, buying corset bones, just call Delicious Corsets and talk to Psydde or Amy. They're sweethearts and very knowledgeable.
