hello! i'm a transplant from local 24. my family moved here in july, and we're looking forward to attending as many florida faires as we can in the future! my husband & i got married at king richards faire in carver, massachusetts in sept of 2002. (i took him there on our first date, & the rest is history....) we live in south daytona & would love to find rennies in our area!

I'm down here near Ft. Lauderdale, home show is FLARF (Feb-Mar)...that's the big cheese in this state. HOWEVER, do not miss BARF, runs right after FLARF, in Tampa area. For a more immediate faire fix, check out the central Florida Pirate Festival in three weeks...that's in Clearwater (west coast, near Tampa) It runs 3 days... Fri- Sun, and is open from 10am to 10 pm on Fri and Sat. Some really great acts are performing there this year, and hey.. it's a faire at night, so you can't go wrong. I know it's a bit of a hike, but if you're at all as insane as most of us, a four hour drive or so isn't that big of a deal.

Welcome to Sunny FL. :D I am a newbie to the Wenches Guild. I am also going to attend the Pirates Faire at the end of this month, coming up from southwest FL, it will be the 1st time there at this faire for my boyfriend and I. We are looking forward to this faire, something different. We do love the Fort Myers faire, Tampa faire at MOSI and the FLARF. Last year we took a trip to the GA faire it was a hike up there from southwest FL, but worth the trip, very pretty. We are going back again this year. Well let faire season begin, I am ready. Welcome again to FL.

I'll be there, too... Not sure what I'm wearing yet, but you can find me at the Empty Hats shows, at least once or twice during the day, and I'll be wearing my pin, and usually wear a really funky hat..

Yep my boyfriend and I will be there too at the Pirates faire. I made a special red/black and white outfit for the Pirate faire. I will be wearing a black hat and red bloomers, red bodice, white chemise and a black skirt and we too will be at the Empty Hats stage often (getting my faire fix in early this year, YES!!!) also Minstrels will be there how exciting. Sounds like a great faire. Does anyone know if they are doing anything special at night since it runs until 10 pm? We can't wait, we'll have to try and meet up at the faire for some conversation. I don't have my pin yet, maybe by the time the Ren faires start in January :rotfl:

I don't know what, exactly is going on....except that apparently Empty Hats will be performing a concert on Saturday night... plugged in and everything. I'll definitely be there for that.

WOW Empty Hats plugged in, I might have to stay for that too. Will have to make dog sitting arrangements. I love Empty Hats, they come to the Fort Myes faire every year and it starts out faire season wonderfully. Do you have their new CD? It is great, love listening to them all year.

The one that's the new "hot" pick is Carl's solo CD. It's absolutely beautiful. He should have it at the Pirate Fest, too.

Well I made doggie arrangements, they are coming with us. We found a hotel and will stay the weekend so we can play all day on Saturday at the faire :D

So you won't be there at all on Friday, then? I'm still tossing around exactly which day(s) I'm coming out. There are a few factors in flux right now.

But definitely, on Saturday I shall be there.

No we won't be there on Friday, by the time we get out of work and head up about 2 hr drive it might be 9pm before we get to the hotel, get a shower :bath: and get some sleep so we have a fresh start on Saturday :D
