Between work, and home I find my self on the verge of tears on a daily basis. and I can't put my finger on any one thing, just many little things. I've got to make time for an out let and yes foxglove i could visit family, soon, however I think that I need some thing besides meditation for a daily thing. does any one else feel this way? any one have any Ideas? I used to enjoy white warter but I fell at work last year and crushed a vertebre. just writing about it seems to help.

 :( :(
ya know, you could call me to talk about it... you've certainly listened to me when I had things to talk about... :grouphug:
Wench words of wisdom...
If you cant see the bright side of life, polish the dull side.
Therefore, if it works... this is good for stress... one of my friends sent it when he heard about the latest diagnosis... I laughed out loud when I heard it say "must have mo~o~o~ore" the first time.... oh... and do try it in manic mode!
 and now the ones with gutter/sewer minds are curious...

I don't know. I mean the bubble wrap is fun but NOTHING beats the real thing.
(Back to thread) I know what you're going through. I hate my job, I stress about my bf, I'm a grad student, and I'm deeply in debt. All of these things cause major stress. I was going to suggest exercise but if you have back problems that might not be a good idea. Have you tried therapy? I went through a few months at the begining of the summer and it is amazing how much better I felt.
What also helps me is pinpointing exactly what is causing me to be upset. Then I try to think about why it upsets me so much. Then you can figure out of you can fix it or not. If you can fix it then yay, but if you can't there's no reason to be so upset about it. I don't know if this helps at all but I know what you're going through. *hugs*

I think I'll write her and turn another cheek. I'll keep you posted as soon as I get this knife out of my back. :)

I know when I'm stressed- I like to go for a drive and listen to music- or just play a video game that either involves shooting little aliens or play majhong. They help me clear my mind because all that I'm thinking about is either trying to get the aliens or how to clear the board.

GAWD THE BUBBLE WRAP WAS FUN

Ahh, stress. My job is so bad right now, I feel like my shoulders are at my ears every night. I wish there was a simple solution. Since getting a hot oil massage by a naked Sean Connery, is not possible, dammut! I had to go with plan B and I got one of those CD's with nature sounds. I figured out where I had the best and happiest memories from. Whether from childhood (our cabin in the woods) to a favorite vacation (houseboat on Lake Powell), they were all nature related. So at night, after a really bad day, I put on my headphones and remember my "happy places". I play them and remember being there with all the memories I can revive. Suprisingly it really helps. I forget about the bullshit of the day and block out tomorrow. I go back to happier times and happier places.

When truly stressed to the point that my shoulders, neck and wrists hurt, I play Destructo-stick.
There is nothing quite like the satisfying crunch of a computer monitor under the force of a well-wielded bat!
i'm about to that point again with my job here...I feel you guys, I really do... *sigh* :(

I had a birthday not so long ago and have turned 40 and 6. things came into perspective. I have a student in my class who is 13 and never stood or walked. She stood for me yesterday! Every thing is relative. A long shower, and a good meditation at the same time has also aided my pain. Next time I'm on I'll share the meditation.
