So, for xmas my parents paid for me to get a cd player installed in my new (well, new for me) Jeep, and I got one that will also play mp3 encoded cd's. I have access to a cd burner this week, so I'm trying to make some good driving music cd's to keep my mind occupied while I'm driving.
What are some of your favourite songs? I listen to practically everything, but now that I'm sitting here trying to make myself come cd's, I can't think of anything good to put on them!

I llisten to almost exclusively renfaire type stuff...lots of folk and newfie music...
go to one of the file share sites (I use WinMX) and download all sorts of stuff...
Blackmore's Night....faboo rennie flavored stuff...
I listen to a lot of Schooner Fare and Great Big Sea
The Chieftains
Irish Descendents
Shanneyganock
If you look long enough, sometimes you can find faire groups on people's computers...Empty Hats, Pyrates Royale, etc...
All of my CDS have been burnt off the computer...after using file share programs, and exploring others' files has given me a chance to learn of new groups and music I might never have heard otherwise.
Have FUN~!

YES!!! :bananada: Another Blackmore's Night fan! And someone else who probably wouldn't think my CD collection is odd! I got "Past Times With Good Company" (recording of a live concert) for Christmas in my stocking and fell in love with Blackmore's Night all over again.
I would definitely suggest Blackmore's Night to go on your CD's. I like to sing along (very loudly :singdanc: heee!) when I drive and they're great for that, too!
Also, if you want kind of chilling music to get down the road rage, try josh Groban. His voice is soooo beautiful :hearts: So is he for that matter! :yum: And besides, people get really confused when they've cut you off and you pull up next to them roll down your window and blast popera at them. Almost as good as doing that with bagpipe music!!!
I like 80's stuff. Mainly glam/big hair rock and new wave.
Off hand particular songs that come to mind and not neccessarily from that era are:
Let Your Love Flow-Bellamy Brothers
500 Miles-From the Benny and Joon soundtrack
Forever Young....the 80's new wave song...NOT the Rod Stewart song
A Little Respect-Erasure
They Don't Know About Us/Love-Tracey Ullman
Supersticious-Europe
Panama-Van Halen
Sweet Child of Mine-Guns and Roses
Freedom-Wham
Karma Chameleon-Culture Club
You Shook Me All Night Long-AC/DC
Bohemian Rhapsody-Queen
Sail Away-Styx
Don't Go Breakin' My Heart-Elton John and Kiki Dee
You Are the Woman-Firefall
Respect Yourself-Madonna
Lets Go Crazy-Prince

Ice Cream Man-Van Halen
Bitch-Meredith Brooks

Midnight Blue-(Sung by the former lead singer of Foreigner)
Do You Believe in Love-Huey Lewis and the News
Walking in Memphis-Mark Cohn
Livin' on a Prayer-Bon Jovi
Pour Some Sugar on Me-Def Lepard
Crazy Train-Ozzie Osbourne
Sweet Home Alabama-Lynard Skynard
Born to Run-Bruce Springsteen
Jesse's Girl-Rick Springfield
Geez there are tons I could list. lol....one I can't remember the name of or artist.....
That anthem like anti-dating song that has "Na-Na WhyDon't You Get a Job" as it's chorus hook line....goes My friend has a boyfriend and she hates that dick, she tells me everyday....(If you heard it, you'd know it and love it...lol)
Well anyway....hope at least some of the ones i listed are a help....

TULL!!! :ilu:
I'm partial to the 20 years collection. If you can get a playlist, I'd dowload a few. My favorites rotate. Right now, I'm listening to the Stormwatch record. (I love the sound of old records) And personally, I think Elegy (off said record) is a great song to walk down the aisle to, if one were lucky enough to be getting married.
Okay, I'm done.

Ooooo-- if y'all like Sisters of Mercy, and that dark, driving kind of music, try VNV Nation. Especially "Saviour." Utterly glorious music.
Is anyone else here into the Goth aesthetic?

OH my gods you guys ROCK!
I'm up to 200 songs, so I won't list them all, but I've got a ton that you all listed! Especially the 80's ones from Tink! Ah, for the days of huge hair, tons of hairspray, blue mascara and matching eyeliner, and rolling up the bottoms of your jeans. :D
Still working on it. I think that on the cd's I've got I can put somewhere in the range of 350 mp3's. So that should keep me occupied driving to faires this spring and summer!
