Yay! But it's like a Christmas present you're not going to get until summer! :merryxma: Oh, well, I'm still glad to hear it's got a release date!
Last year a local bookstore and the city of Oak Park created Diagon Alley and held games and other things before the store reopened at midnight for all of the preordered books. Richard and I went in garb with my shoulder griffon from Midsummer Night's Dream and had a BLAST!! Poor little Gwyddion Griffon was petted so much by the kids, I had to take him to Tiny to be repaired! But he enjoyed the attention. I hope they do that again!

Apropos are you sure about that.
Seeing as book number five had a character not make it throught till the end . . . why would she do it again in book six?

We were on vacation when OOTP came out. My dear BookWench and her hubby picked me up a copy and brought it back to the condo for me.
As for character death, since she took one of the good guys last time, maybe it's time for Peter to pay his debt to Harry.

Anyone else miffed because we didn't get the owl results at the end of the last book? I mean, we all know he passed, but........:sheesh:

Now...I went to the Midnight Magic party at Barnes and Noble...I ran into people I hadn't seen in years! But...the Oak Park thing sounds so much cooler...I wanna go there!

*snickers*
Book 5 came out on June 21st 2003, the day Muireadach - PirateRogue and I were married. We had warned everyone weeks before that we would be leaving the pre-wedding festivities so we would be able to pick it up at midnight. They didn't believe us. *laughs* The bookstore across the street from our hotel had a release party and we were there. They gave us some extra promo goodies for wedding presents.
And yes, we were sneaking peaks at the books (we both bought one because we refused to wait until the other was done) while we were getting ready for the wedding too.

Woohoo! I hope Barnes & Noble has another party. This time I'm going to make some wizard's robes for us to wear (a group of 6 of us went together). Hee hee. July can't come soon enough!

I know it's been a while since anyone posted on this subject, but since I'm fairly new here I had to respond to this. :) I have been a BIG hp fan since my youngest daughter got me started on them. Now I own the set of five and every time a new book comes out I have a ritual of reading all the previous books before buying the new one to read. I know, I know, I'm a little ummm... weird, but I love the books so much. Can't wait for the 6th one and it's getting closer to the time. It's also going to be a b-day present for me too! :D

its Lucius, and I dont think he'll die....YET, I mean the death eatters are gonna have to die eventually or get locked back into Azkaban for good. But, yay, its the day I go out of town too so I am gonna pick one up at thestore and read it the whooooooole trip.

Yes, hon, I know it's Lucius... the JIFfers constantly and continually call him Luscious.

There will be no killing of the fine and lovely Mr. Malfoy please....
I fear I would have to lodge a formal protest.
Lady Sarah

formal protest my heiney. :snerf:
after I get done with much wailing and tearing of hair (a bit overboard, but c'mon, he's a lovely villain!), I'm sending bad vibes to JKR - for a short while - wishing she come to realize just how badly she messed up in killing such a fine upstanding man... at least he was before I got through with him...

The actor is hot and all, but I wouldn't mind the loss of another bad guy. And Malfoy is definitely an evil git!

Oh, no denying that. But the wickedness is just so delicious. And I'm not talking about the actor alone here. There's a particular indulgence in the evil that is Malfoy Sr. Malfoy Jr. can go shuffle off to Buffalo for all I care ~L~
Before we Deep 6 Malfoy Sr., lets get rid of Bellatrix.... or Pettigrew... or the parents of Malfoy Jr.s two dunderhead cohorts...

I have a felling Bella will be dying. Sure she might be Voldomorts humping buddy (well thats what I gathered from their interaction, I mean he calls her 'bella' thats like a pet name) but she still failed to take out potter for him.
I know that we are gonna be seeing more of draco's mother in book 6, I am eager to see that, becaue we only get that one view of her in GOF, but if Malfoy Senior dies, I will send bad vibes to JKR. Grr
I kinda like malfoy jr. draco is such a hotty evil boy in training...but Pettigrew has to die, he's a threat to my lupin. DIIIIIIIE

what if its Dumbledore they kill off?

as long as its not Lucius, Draco, Snape or Remus, I dont care who they kill off. Hell they could kill off Ron AND Hermoine and i'd be like lalalala--too bad so sad, but dumbledore seems like a likely possilibty for book seven, not book 6
