THANKSGIVING FRUITCAKE RECIPE

I know you will want to get a jump on the holiday season, so here is a
new recipe for you to try.

I've never cared much for fruitcake, but I may try this one.

1 cup water
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups of flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup chopped nuts
1 gallon wine

Sample the wine to check for quality.

Take a large bowl.

Check the wine again to make sure that it is of the highest quality.
Pour 1 level cup and drink. Repeat if you're not sure.

Turn on the electric mixer and beat 1 cup of butter in a large bowl.

Add 1 tsp. sugar and beat again.

Make sure the wine is still okay. Cry another tup.

Turn off the mixer.

Break two legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a
drewscriver.

Sample the wine again to check for tonsisticity.

Next sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Who cares.

Check the wine.

Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add 1 table. Spoon. Of sugar or flour or something. Whatever you can
find.

Grease the oven.

Turn the cake pan to 350 degrees.

Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Throw one bowl out the window.

Check the wine again. Go to bed.

Who gives a "blank" about fruitcake anyway?

Try echinacea and goldenseal and throw in some zinc for good measure. Usually does the trick for me.

Sarah, can you enlighten me as to what red tea is?

Rooibos tea. it's like green tea... Rooibos (ROY-boss) is an herb indigenous to South Africa and is full of polyphenols and flavenoids. These help protect the body from free-radicals that weaken the natural defenses and eventually lead to aging and onset of disease. Studies have shown that drinking Rooibos or red tea daily can boost immune systms. AND, it's completely caffeine free.

I usually drink a cup a morning, but when I start to feel that ick creeping in, I drink several cups all day long.

there's another herb like Rooibos that's indigenous to South America... similar properties, etc... OH! it's called Mate (mah-TAY). that's great too!

Minor thread jack: did you know that rooibus tea is good for folks who get kidney stones? It is different than black/green tea, as it doesn't have oxalic acid in it, which can exacerbate the kidney stone issues. Just another weird trivial nugget stored in my brain...

Now back to the rum balls, whisky & chocolate!
