I'm currently in the process of creating a business that sells adult erotic chocolates. YES. The kind that are little OR big body parts (of both sexes) and the like.

I'm considering doing a mail order web site and wanted to know if the ladies and gents here think it's a good idea and could I possibly count on your patronage.

I have a large (pardon the pun) selection of erotic goodies including horny toads. Gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince?

I have a divorce/break up kit for men and women. I have a happy spern for the new daddy at the baby shower - daddy always gets left out - so how about a happy sperm with the message - Congratulations - He made it!

Anyway - it's not a business I can take to faire cause the profits would melt away faster than I could sell, but I thought of everyone here first when wondering where some of my customer base could come from.

Let me know what you think?
Thanks

hmmm, honestly you best business right now is on the web or possibly consigning with erotic stores in your area. Do you have a two-five year plan on where you would like to be and what kind of profits you would like to make? Have you looked into the various food production laws in your state? (often if you have a pet and you are producing things at home then you can not produce food items commercially). Have you checked into laws about mailing food?
I currently run a small jewelry business (yes my web site is coming...I just need to figure out dreamweaver) and have been doing some consulting for other small businesses. You have a really neat idea. Eventually I think you will be able to find more products to expand out with. If you would like any advice about state sales tax exemptions let me know, I have a decent amount of experience.
One thing I will caution you is not to sell your to cheaply. Tally your hours worked on each item. It doesn't help you much if you are getting 10 dollars for an item you spent 2 days working on.
There is a wonderful book out there called Growing your business that was published sometime in the late 80's early 90's that helped me a lot when I was begining.

Thanks Nise
I'm on the right track with everything you're saying. Working with a friend on incorporating and trying to find the right commercial space for production facility. Have a potential investor to handle both of those too. Everytime I turn around and tell or show someone what I'm doing - I end up with another order.

I think my timing is right for this area and the local shops have already offered to put my products on their shelves. I plan on hitting a few friends up who are in the gay community here too.

I really want to put this on the net right now cause there are only about 7 or so sites in the US doing this sort of product.

I'm also doing custom chocolates for normal businesses that want a special little something for thier customers. I have kits for new daddy's (chocolate shaped pickles and ice cream for that 4 am craving) and PMS?Menopause and Divorce survival kits and the like.

My fav Rennie chocolate will be tiny little sheep for all the Scots I know!

Good luck with Dreamwaver - hubby's a graphic artist and he doesn't even know it that well. Keep me posted on how you're doing. Hubby used to do jewelry too. SOunds like we may have a lot in common - besides being fabulous and gorgeous wenches!
