Hi all,

My organization, Pet-Abuse.Com, will be holding a charity event at some point in the near future. (Not sure of a timeframe yet, we're still working that out.) We'll be holding a raffle of course, and I was hoping that some of the amazing crafters and merchants out there would be willing to donate an item or two to help us out. We are in southern California, so items would need to be shipped to us if the merchant isn't local. (Local means as far away as the LA area, generally speaking). If anyone is interested, or knows someone who might be, please email me at alison@pet-abuse.com with details. Also please feel free to crosspost and send this message along if you wish.

This is our first charity event, so I'm a little nervous, and I'm hoping we can get some really cool and unique prizes. Because the organization is animal related, we do have to ask that no items containing leather or fur products are donated. (While my organization doesn't take a stand on these things, the people coming to the event might, and we'd prefer to dodge that bullet right off the bat.)

Thanks in advance!

How about knitted items? Some of us are faboo knitters and crocheters, and I'd be happy to knock out a lacework scarf or something for you.

I've gone through my pattern book and I've found the pawprint scarf, which looks like scattered pawprints running up and around the scarf. Please PM me with your timeframe, and where to send finished stuff. If I have enough time I could make more than one. I'm happy to do it. :)

I can add to your list of goodies:

~ healthy dog treats (I'll do the non-meat containing varieties, so there won't be any chance of spoilage)

~ jewelry (earrings, bracelets, necklaces - sterling findings, pearl, crystal, glass beads)

Ditto on the time frame and requested quantities and where to ship the goods to. Anything to help you help our furry (and or feathered, scaled or other) friends!

Can you post a ETA of when you need the stuff and where to send it, My mother who makes wheel chair lap blankets for Vets is in for a pet blanket or two.

I will post an ETA just as soon as I know it. The chick who is coordinating much of this is still working on nailing down a venue - which will dictate the timeline.

Okay - we finally have an ETA! April 6th or 13th seem to be the two dates available that we are looking at.

For those of you who offered to donate an item, the mailing address is here:

http://www.pawsforlaughter.com/raffle.php

And when you send the stuff, make sure you send a note including your name, your business name (if you have one), and a short blurb about what your business does (marketing-babble, if you will). I'm going to put together a snazzy handout for everyone who attends, and I'd like to make sure credit (and advertising) is given where its due! (If you have a company logo, please email it to me and I'll try to include it in the handout next to your blurb.)

Also remember that this is not a ren-crowd - so if there are more mainstream items that you sell, that might be what you want to focus on for the blurb. :)

I see I was too late to do anything for this one, but let us know if you hold another. I'd be happy to help. I can whip up a bunch of fleece pet blankets or something.

We want to send gift certificates. Is this ok? That way they can use them in the store or on the website.

Are you still looking for items? By when? I make jewelry and would be happy to donate some kitty earrings or other items. Please let me know.

I only wish I knew of this when it was going on. I'd have donated several beaded and polymer clay items.

Should you have another event like this and need item donations, please let me know. I'd be more than happy to help.
