Ok, how many others out there, like me, are in geek heaven, watching the Return of the King DVD, tthe extended film, new scenes, the appendices, the commentaries...I loved the cast commentary (Billy Boyd and Dom Monahan are priceless and had me laughing hysterically), and listening to Peter,Fran and Phillipa has got to be the only time that listening to a director's commentary is actually entertaining as well!

I haven't gotten the extended version, but love watching all the extras. Is the extended version worth buying for the extras? I love Billy Boyd and Dominic Monahan - my favorites in the films, too.

As for being a LOTR geek - snowed in this weekend, so watched all three in a row on the couch!

We bought an huge 51 in tv just prior to the release so we could watch the extended editions.

Both hubby and my Boss are Star Wars and LOTR geeks (I'm only a little geeky) Hubby quotes the boks at me.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes...

IMO all the extras and easter eggs are *almost* more enjoyable than the film itself!

Actually, you should listen to the director's feature commentary during Shrek, if you own it on DVD. That's very entertaining too!

Joe has watched the extended edition 6 times in a row... First time "normal" and then with every last commentary... ;)

I like the commentary... But I like to watch other stuff too!
