This should be a great forum for me. I'm usually a lurker on the boards, but mention games, and I'm all ears. I work in the gaming industry, so it's a subject near and dear to my heart, and checkbook. ;)
Things I play (or are waiting for me to play, so many games, so little time):
World of Warcraft
Doom 3
Half Life 2
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Pikmin 2
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Bard's Tale
Pirates!
Katamari Damacy
Lord of the Rings: The Third Age
In general...I own a computer, Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, and Gameboy Advance SP and I like a wide variety of genres, although roleplaying games tend to win out moreso than others.
What types of games do y'all play?

Haha - I just play Runescape... and occasionally I try to figure out the new Prince of Persia game. :) I barely have time to pee, let alone get sucked into the gaming thing.
(I used to beta test computer games for as living... now THAT was a good job.. LOL)

Oh goody.... an expert. :D
I received a PS2 for Christmas and I am planning on hooking it up to our wireless network soon. Are there any good online role-playing types of games for the PS2. Most everything I have seen seem to be more sports related.

I loved Champians of Norrath (sp) for PS2, plus it was multi player, on and off line. DarkStone isn't bad, I think it is PS 1 game but still a good enough diversion.
I beat Bloodlines, and went back and started playing with another clan.
I just bought and Beta tested Guild Wars, what I love about that is that while it is online, there is no monthly fee for it.

It depends on what type of "online" rpg you're looking for. Final Fantasy XI and Everquest Online are online rpgs in a persistent gaming world (meaning you're playing with lots of others, and things go on after you log out). As for PS2 roleplaying games in general...Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Dark Alliance 2, and Champions of Norrath are fun hack'n'slash rpgs, and can be played multi-player. Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy X, Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2, and Demon Stone are also good rpgs. There are probably more but those are the only PS2 ones I've gotten around to playing. :)

What I was refering to are the online RPG games in the vein of Everquest where you have character interaction with real players, not just hack and slash. I do enjoy the Final Fantasy games, but FF XI is not an option since I have one of the new PS2 that will not accept the external harddrive required. It is probably a good thing since I'm not sure I can devote the time to a new obsesion right now.

Then check into Everquest Online Adventures. :) It doesn't list a hard drive as a requirement at the Sony Online Entertainment store. The online console rpg market is pretty tiny for now.

Last year for Christmas my sister (who knows NOTHING about games) got me Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowwind for the Xbox. THAT is one damn addicting game. I played it non-stop for months then drifted away from it for awhile. Now I've gotten totally absorbed in it again. I highly recommend it. A completely open world you can do whatever you want in. Follow the story...don't follow the story...whatever you want.

LOL! I see this is an older thread but couldn't resist chiming in....I am lurking right now, but light up at games :)
I am currently addicted to Dungeon Siege, Legends of Aranna......multiplayer version right now. Work is so annoying, cutting into my play time lol
But my old standby is Diablo.....been addicted since the first came out and have had fun in doing beta testing as each new version emerged :)
I also am playing Doom 3, Spell Force, Civ III, Warcraft...I know there are more sitting at home, but those are the most current.
I have played Everquest, but never got addicted.....but give me time lol.
