I've known for a while now that this movie is in the works. ( http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0382625/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxzZz0xfHR0PTF8cG49MHxxPXRoZSBkYSB2aW 5jaSBjb2RlfG14PTIwfGxtPTIwMHxodG1sPTE_;fc=1;ft=3;f m=1 )
but, I'm on the fence about Tom Hanks being cast as Robert Langdon. I just can't see it... nor can I hear it. Langdon's voice is described as "chocolate for the ears" in the book, and to me, Hanks doesn't have that sort of voice.
and for the record, I'm not entirely sure who I'd have cast as Langdon, so I have no alternatives. :D
anyone else's thoughts?

Well they had also tossed around Harrison Ford's name at first...which is funny since Langdon mentions the comparison to Ford in the book but frankly...I have no idea who to picture. When I was reading it I kept visualizing my old history teacher from junior high. But I don't think he's available right now!

The character of Robert sort of does cry out for Harrison Ford, but unfortunatly, he is now too old for the role. Which is unfortunate.
Tom Hanks I am definatly not on the fence about. Nope. No way.
I just so hope they do this movie well.

Mags, I'm with you on this one. I think Tom Hanks can pull off almost anything. Like you said, though, I just hope they do a good job on this one. The book was excellent.
I hate to see good books made into bad movies.
Too bad it isn't a costume drama. But then, I think real life should be a costume drama. Or comedy.

It would definitely make a good movie - I was thinking that as I read it!
Tom Hanks...I agree - not sure about that one....maybe someone more like Liam Nieson (with american accent) I don't know!! Hey, well, it's still in pre-production, so anything can still happen....
