David Durbin said he decided to jokingly sell his soul on eBay, but the auction site objected to the offer and quashed it. Then Durbin reposted the offer, using different phrasing.
"I am selling my autograph. It just happens to be on a bill sale for my soul," Durbin told Call 6 for Help's Rafael Sanchez on Thursday.
Durbin said he decided on the soul-selling as a lark after he lost money in a scam while trying to sell a car.

He said he restored a 1987 Dodge Shelby Charger GLHS that he had bought from a friend. He tried to sell it on autobytel.com, and someone agreed to buy it for $7,900.
But instead of sending $7,900, the buyer sent a cashier's check for $15,900 and asked Durbin to wire him the $8,000 difference, Durbin said. Durbin sent $8,000 but later learned that the buyer's check was counterfeit.
Durbin eventually was able to sell the car to someone else, Sanchez reported.
