Good MORNING Lovelies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mornin' Everyone.. just getting that first cup o'java before taking the daughter into work.. type more later...

Phoenix McHeit

*busily looking up pattern sites for a certain project I have coming up*

Sheesh - who knew there were so many different styles of patterns to choose from? *said the woefully inadequate seamstress* :)

Ah well - tis a labor of love......

Hugs Biker - I hear ya about the sleep-issue. I woke up after tossing & turning last night with a splitting headache myself. At least (knock knock) it wasn't a migraine! But forced down some toast (I hate eating so soon after waking) and took some meds, and now its down to a dull throb. Good enough that I can surf & type, anyway! ;)

Hugs everyone!

Good mornin' all
:grouphug:

Thanks for the breakfast Phee ::gets large cup o java, corn muffin and plops down on carpet::

Boy, everyone had a bad night last night ::extra hugs for Phee and Biker:: I woke up in the middle of the night in a bundle of nerves. I have a very, very slight heart valve problem and it was acting up - nothing to worry about though.

Well, back to work - bookeeping end of year stuff (push the pencils, count the beans...)

Phee, words of advice from one to another - K.I.S.S.!!!

Good Morning Ever'body!

OK, client is coming in until 11 - yay! A bit more time for me to goof off.

That and actually get some work done on my month ends.

Argh! :augh: the job market here in Mich. is tight for theoritically 'normal' people. Locating stuff for my clients is difficult at best, and that's when they want to find a job. Some know how to play the game. Say they want to find work, sit on their bottoms while I run around looking for jobs and setting up interviews, then never show up for the interviews or return my phone calls. Luckly, with enough documentation, I can drop these guys from my case load. I do actually like my job, it is just frustrating some times.

It's Wednesday! Hump Day and Chat Day!! :D

Yay! Barring Her Grace being a Black Hole of Need, I will be there too :)

Phoenix McHeit
02-02-2005, 10:43 AM
Me too me too me too! I missed my *fix* last week, with this stoopid ISP, so I wont miss it tonight! I'll be a little later than normal though - won't get home til 9-ish. But y'all should still be rolling! *crossing fingers*

Arte: ooh thankee for the hugs, sweets - makes it better!

Sawah - *sigh* I know sweets - I';m tryin - but simple just aint gonna cut it for this particular project. Looks like - for the look I want - I'm gonna have to take 4 different patterns & mix-n-match. I have some help & advice on that, though. Gawds bless sisters!

Mags: hugs hun!

::stumbles in, heads straight for table and takes entire carafe of coffee::

Biker, sorry Nancy and the wee ones were not well, *hugs* hope they get better rest today, and allow you rest this evening. Good luck on the inspection, I know they're tough!

Phee...If'n you need assistance on that project, PM me or get me on the Yahoo!, I've been there, done that, and I may be able to help a wee.

I'm going to be MIA for Chat *yet again* this evening. The Wenches and I have rehersal tonight for a show on Friday, so it'll be a long one. *sniff* Sorry darlings, I wanted to come play this week!!!!! ::pout:: Unfortunately, our season is starting up again, so I can pretty much kiss my *spare* time goodbye!

*yes I would like some cheese with my whine. A nice provolone or a runny brie will do quite nicely*

Is it just me or is it one of those days where everyone just BARELY woke up? I can't stay awake today!!! I think I need a gallon of caffeine!!! :)

Hey everyone!! *hugglez* I MIGHT actually make it to chat tonight!

Lady Sarah
02-02-2005, 12:57 PM
no chat tonight for me. After a sorority meeting, I've got to get cracking on my newest bloomie fabric - SHREK 2!!!

shrieks in laughter at the thought of ogre green splotched bloomies with Shrek, Donkey and Puss gamboling across her butt and thighs... not to mention the words "Ogres have layers"... my first thought was "So do Wenches!!"

WenchyMom

Biker sorry about the wife and kiddos not feeling well. Good luck on your review.

Phoenix McHeit
02-02-2005, 01:08 PM
Chat time is 8PM EST, so that'd make it 7 Central, I think?

BonBon - thankee for the offer, sweetness - I'll be sure to keep that in mind! :smooch:

Mommie - aww  you're a doll to say that! :smooch:

Update - looks like Morghan and I found the perfect dress... all in one - just have to make a few adjustments to neckline & such...

Sara where do you get all of your fun fabric????

I get it from Jo-Ann's. I cruise the cotton quilter's aisle and the Juvenile aisle. the gaudier and more garish, the better for me. After all, it's only a treat if you see my bloomers, so the Garb Nazi's won't know what they can't see. ;)

and I can see your avatar just fine doll!

Ok, I know there have been a few posts hinting, but m'lady and I have decided it's time to stop the hinting, and just say it. Beltaine has been mentioned, and if all hopefully falls into place, there will be a wedding that weekend. It's not every day one finds that 'one' person, that soul mate we all seek in life. And when we do, we never want to lose that. And so, after having talked about it, and knowing that we each are the one the other has been seeking, I proposed to Phoenix, and she accepted. We are hoping to obtain our desired wedding site the weekend of Beltaine, or if necessary to hold it where we want to, the weekend directly following. Presiding over the ceremony will be my wonderful sister Dei, who, like myself, is ordained. Both Phee and I are thrilled, and impatiently waiting for the day to arrive! :D

Margaret
02-02-2005, 07:26 PM
Let me be the first to say it here, I am so happy for the two of you. Bright blessing on your union and much happiness in the years that follow.

Yes, now the wonderful news is out at last! And after reading how artfully my dear Artos worded it, I am so glad that I asked him to make the announcement. 'Thrilled' doesn't even come close to the giddy, ecstatic, overwhelming feelings I have coursing through me at the thought.

Amas Veritas, indeed...... :D

And thank you all for your wonderful wishes. You whom I have met through this board are like family to me. One huge, far-extended family, and my love goes to you all!

Artos O'Dalriada

Thank you all for the good wishes :D ..... hmmmm, virtual bridesmaids, I'll have to discuss that with Phee :P

Dedeley
02-03-2005, 06:04 AM
'Cause I wanna see the picture of Biker in the bridesmaid dress.

BTW, Phee and Artos, you realize that you are planning a wedding with an on-line audience of hopeless romantics! Details, please, on the decorations, type of ceremony, etc. and etc. and so forth.

I'm just still so happy for you. Woo hoo! :bananada:

Artos O'Dalriada
02-03-2005, 06:07 AM
I'm sure a lil paintshop pro can take care of gettin biker into a bridesmaid's dress, and as far as details, you'll just have to wait. i promise they'll be forthcoming though, just going to wait until m'dear awakens. Only reason I'm on is cause I just got home from work.

Margaret
02-03-2005, 07:30 AM
Good morning everyone! (or Artos, in your case, good night! :) )

Weeeell, today I get to add a new experience to my list of been there, done that. One of my clients has an intervew at a place called City Aluminmum. They want him to do an actual interview and then a 'test run' on the job. Guess who gets to go and get down and dirty in a foundry and help Jason learn the in's and out's (called job coaching).

Why yes! Me! It should be interesting. He's a nice kid and actually wants to work. He is capable of doing this job. However, his mental illness gets in the way of his success - so I get to be there to help him over the ruff spots. So, if he gets this job, it's one more day of job coaching for me, then I turn that job over to Vanessa.

Now where did I put my steele toe boots....

I will be gone this morning, but I will give you all the low down when I get back. :)

02-03-2005, 07:33 AM

M'lord & Lady- Heinlein said it best: "May you love as long as you live, and live as long as you like..."
(I might have paraphrased- I'm nowhere near that book presently...)

Not that I need to be a *virtual* ANYTHING.. but anyone attempting to put me into a bridesmaid's dress had better be:
- A. Bigger and stronger then I.
- B. Better armed.
- C. Possessing of better alcohol
- or D. Female, naked and persuasive

-Please note that several of those will not work solo, but would need to be applied in combination.

Y'know, Phee- someday I would like to meet thy proto-rogues.. I'll bring along the squires!

Ok All.. I'm... Off to the Bookshop! (sell the books, sell the books!)

Have *Fun*!!!

plane was cool almost done?

He just finished getting all the instruments - from ebay no less. Needs to put the wings on to work on the fuel lines but he can't do that until he moves the plane out of our garage to his hangar at the airport.

Of course, he's still putting together the hangar ( http://community.webshots.com/album/231171426djgPUP ) - only has the concrete slab down. So when the hangar is put together, then the plane moved to it, he'll start the final process. He's been doing this for 7 years and is not in a hurry.

Anyway - on a more amusing note - my daughter sent me this link .. granted, its a few years old - but the story is cute and I thought everyone here would enjoy it..

How many weeks is it till Beltane? Did I say weeks? oh.. I meant months - yea, that's it months... plenty of time.. oh yea.. sure.. nope - no problem.. got it covered.. let's see.. coffee? (check) .....trip for fabric (check) ... re-organize house to accomidate sewing stuff (check) ... evict all household occupants while sewing frenzy ensues (check)... lots of coffee? (check) ... write ceremony (check)... ceremony props (check).... coffee? (check) headpiece (check)... flowers? .... OMG'ess... WHERE'S THE FLOWERS?!?!?!?!?!?

Did I mention the coffee?

(hehehe) just kidding... actually I think its all under control...

Don't sweat it! Mum and I did a handfasting for some of our friends. And Mum made all of their dresses and ours. And she did great! And hey it is always worth it when you see the happy couple kiss and the moms cry!

And Phee how could one forget the Mini's??

All I can say to the Biker in the bridesmaid dress is a quote from this book I'm reading,
" I look like a Gone With the Wind reject dipped in Pepto Bismol."

Yep I have that scary image in my head now, some one please pass the brain spork.

Glad you guys liked the idea of Biker in a bridesmaid outfit. You are a great sport, Biker. And Mr. Silvertop, your theatrical history will tell you that many of the great actors of the Elizabethan Era appeared in drag. (Sorry, Fiona).

Did you notice that none of the other Rogues came out to play with the bridesmaid dress idea? Did you notice that all the women who have been subjected to really bad bridesmaid dresses probably did? I have a shiny aqua one in my closet, if anyone is interested. It's tea length!

Phee, my wedding was planned in less than 6 weeks, and it was the best wedding that I ever had, er, attended. You can do it. Please yourselves, please the mini-rogues, keep Morghan from going insane, and forget about pleasing anyone else. You'll be

02-04-2005, 02:29 AM
Not that I need to be a *virtual* ANYTHING.. but anyone attempting to put me into a bridesmaid's dress had better be:
- A. Bigger and stronger then I.
- B. Better armed.
- C. Possessing of better alcohol
- or D. Female, naked and persuasive

-Please note that several of those will not work solo, but would need to be applied in combination.

s.

OK.. now that I can actually sit down and review all I've missed ... let me see if I can address these - one.... at.....a..... time....

- A. Humm.. bigger & stronger... OK.. strength is a state of mind.. so we'll come back to this in a moment..

-B. Better armed... well, lets see - isn't there a quote from *Pretty Woman* that referred to the foot, in comparison to the arm - which then compared to the length of the legs - and just how many inches could be wrapped around a willing warm body? I woud have to say "armed" is completely a matter of perception and how well "armed" one would care to be...

-C. Alcohol...humm.. alcohol = intoxication... and M'dear.. one does NOT require artifical means of intoxication - when the (ahem) correctly *armed* - person is steering the ship

-and finally... D If we toss all of our ingredients into a nice Toblerone coated mixing bowl.. I believe you will find that ... C + B = D and A? well - at this point even Golliath would topple..

And that concludes this morning's - academic lessons in our A, B, C, &......... D's.....

Any questions?

Well, "Mr." sounds soo terribly.. formal.

'specially for one who has virtually snuck up behind thee and whispered in thy ear... and sung.. and verse-ified... feather-fenced and chocolateered...

I'd threaten thee with a spanking.. but I suspect it wouldn't be a punishment...

Luther's Villanelle
By Neil Gaiman

I get the feeling I've been here before
(Which is of course unlikely to be true)
But in these times it's so hard to be sure...

Consider the cold bastions of law
The clunk of padlock, muttered curse of screw -
I get the feeling I've been here before.

A thousand words and every world's a door.
The lights go out; I think I think of you,
But in these times it's so hard to be sure.

There's black blood slowly clotting on the floor,
Adhering to the bottom of my shoe.
I get the feeling I've been here before.

I've never been intentionally obscure,
I've never been intentioinally taboo,
But in these times it's so hard to be sure.

There is no crime, though somewhere there's a clue.
Not far away the game begins anew...
But in these times it's so hard to be sure:
I get the feeling I've been here before.

Let's see what we have going today....

Make a bunch of phone calls to see if I can set up meetings with store managers, shop managers etc. so I can go in and explain our program to them.

Do some cold calls for jobs/Community Based Assesment places.

Go to bank and get some money.

Go to K-mart and buy a new pair of hose as the cat snagged mine first thing this morn.

Go and meet with the managers that I have set up meetings with.

Photocopy, file and mail monthly reports.

Go to Erin's school at 3:15 for her 1/2 Birthday party.

Take Erin to her grandparents so they can go swimming.

Go out to eat with hubby (there will be a seprate side bar post on this......)

Come home and collapse.....

That and all the other life that happens inbetween

There's a new Italian place that we have been wanting to try out. Since Erin is going with her grandparents tonight, I thought I would suggest we go out to eat tonight.

"Hey Jon, want a hot date tonight?" says I.

He pauses and replies "Sure, but I don't know where I could find one in such a short time. Maybe I could ask around at work."

speaking of 10 inches...

Sing along to the tune of "I will survive" when you read this.

...... At first I was afraid, I was petrified, When you said you had 10 inches, Lord I almost died! But I'd spent so many years just waiting for a man that long, That I grew strong, and I knew that I could take you on....

But there you are, another lie, I was ready for a big mac and you've bought me a French fry! I should have known that it was bullshit, just a sad pathetic dream, Should have known there was no anaconda lurking in those jeans! Go on now go, walk out the door, Don't you promise me 10 inches, then turn up with only 4! Weren't you a brat to think I wouldn't catch you out!? Don't you know we' re only joking when we say size doesn't count???!

(Chorus) I will survive! I will survive! 'Cos as long as I have batteries, My sex life is gonna thrive! I will always have good sex with a handful of latex! I will survive! I will survive!. . .Hey! Hey!

[Verse II] It took all my self control not to laugh out loud, When I saw your little weiner standing tall and proud! But to hell with all your egos and to hell with all your needs Now I'm saving all my lovin' for a cordless multispeed!

(Chorus) I will survive! I will survive! 'Cos as long as I have batteries, My sex life is gonna thrive! I will always have good sex with a handful of latex! I will survive! I will survive!. . .Hey! Hey!

My to do list..to do as little as possilbe and get away with it. The kidlet is turning 21 so I am trying to do something big for her. She is still under the delusion that going clubbing is so much fun...and I am still under the delusion that getting hammered close to home where the bartender knows me well enough to give free shots for the birthday is so much fun. Hmmm...choices choices. NOT.

Mine turned 21 last october - and a few people threatened to take her clubbing - however she's never been a partier or drinker - so instead, I surprised her with inter-weaving visits from out-of-state friends that she truly thought had no way of getting here.

Ok.. letssee... Weekend.. weekend.. gotta have an agenda 'round here somewhere..

Friday: Sell books,
Check in with Stef recouperating in Hospital
Attend B-day party for His Excellency, Baron Robert (the transvestite) [see story earlier in thread]

Saturday: Assist in Video transfer of last weekend’s event
Check in with Stef recouperating in Hospital
Attend basketball games for the young squires
Remain in “loco parentis”/father mode so that Abigail Greywolf can go off to evening rehearsal: “Sound of Music”
Reread script for “Cinderella” & begin scenic & lighting design for Abigail’s upcoming production

Sunday: Check in with Stef recouperating in Hospital
Avoid *stoopid* mundane sporting mega-event by packing up family & visiting friend’s house
(note to self: bring pool cue, bathing suit, box of games, good books, chocolate, [steel?])

Continue general laziness, lounging around, furthering the moral decay, and sloth. (ie. work to the strengths...)

Biker, I'm sure you have nice legs, but I agree with Morghan....we *should* have a peek. Not to worry though, I'm sure we're all certified inspectors and non-partisan......

weekend plans:

Friday (is it already?!)

Work, leave early
(Garb Up!) Pub Performance at Head's Up Brewery, surrounded by all our Tifosi and a bunch of drunk strangers who just cannot help themselves stop being stupid. (yes, it's a tail, yes it's mine and it's real, and NO you may NOT pet it!)

Saturday

Garb again, meet with Tall Ships festival coordinators to plan event and our various roles in it. (I get to sail on the tall ships again! Woo-Hoo!)

Play with Puppies and Rogues-in-Training.

Sunday

Avoid inane "sporting event" broadcast on serveral channels.
Cook large pot of chili for guests

Black Powder Training and play time. (I love owning 10 acres, we can hold practice at my house instead of tromping to a range, and we can play as long as we like!)

That's about it.

Let' s see:

When I was still in HS I did some part time work as a maid for a condo association. Where I grew up was a big ski area. So, there I was a 16 year old getting 'Hey baby-ed' by 40 & 50 year old Canadian men who I wouldn't have touched with a stolen dick.

Then, hubby and I went to the Windsor Casino. Hotel room left much to be desired.

So and hence, sleazy hotel room IN Canada and sleazy Canadians in a hotel. :)

cough choke sputters with laughter. I was making and selling period style clothing at the time. A large group of drag queens were in town that weekend. One of them is a good customer of mine. (Looks a lot Cher) Anyway, "Cher" was in the booth looking for new outfits and beaded earrings. One of my more obnoxious male customers came into the booth. He couldn't keep his eyes off of "Cher" (Who by the time was in an off the shoulder short chemise, bodice and midcalf length bloomers).

To make long story short, I kind of sort of fixed the obnoxious jerk up with "Cher" without mentioning certain little extras that "Cher" has. :haloslip:

From what I heard about the date, "Cher" enjoyed herself ,er ,himself a great deal. The jerkwad was left in state of shock when they got to a more intimate moment.

NOT FAIR!! I can't get here during the day, and you have fun without me.

<<raises hand guiltily>>Someone bought me a Canadian Mountie shirt. I asked why. He said, "Cause you always get your man."

I lived in Canada for five years, out west in Alberta. Lots of beef out there on the prairie in Alberta. Not many beavers. And lots of REALLY cold nights. That is where my trendy, sophistocated and sensual use of flannel as a sexual tool took root.

Sarah, that song has been forwarded to my entire address list, including all my gay friends. :P

Hey, DD! "Sir" was bad enough, M'dear.. I could at least pretend that thou wert considering the White Knigh.. umm- Black Kni.. hmmm.. *Grey* Knight on a charger... But "Mr."??? Well, "Mr." sounds soo terribly.. formal. 'specially for one who has virtually snuck up behind thee and whispered in thy ear... and sung.. and verse-ified... feather-fenced and chocolateered...

Got your attention, didn't it? :D Um, I hate to say this, but for a wench, I am awfully dense when a virtual sneak up, ear whisper, song, and versification takes place. I believed, O Color-Changing-Knight, that your remark was in GENERAL, not directed to my humble, flannel-soxed person in particular.

I offer my deepest apologies, and beg the opportunity to make amends. Had I known the whispered endearments were directed at me, I would have unsheathed my own feather and requested fencing lessons. Is there anything that I may virtually offer to please thee?

I'd threaten thee with a spanking.. but I suspect it wouldn't be a punishment...

From one of the other posts, the Etiquette from Hell. Thought Phee and Artos would enjoy this one, as they are planning their wedding:

"Here I am minutes from walking down the aisle and it's me, my two best friends in the whole world and my sister waiting behind a screen while the last guests are being seated. This is a big moment...the wedding coordinator was smoothing my train and making sure my butt bow was on straight. And Eve starts FARTING. Oh yes. Big huge gigantic farts. Complete with bending over at the waist and pumping her arm like she was blowing a horn. Classy. And oh so pleasant, we were in a small niche, not fart friendly at all. At first I twittered, even when I was swathed in yards of ivory satin farts were still kind of funny, then I said "hey, could you lay off the tooting? I am getting MARRIED now."

Her reply "I do it now, or I do it during your ceremony. It's got to come out sometime!"
The wedding coordinator went and opened some windows and lit a candle. Eve continued to let them rip. I thought my photographer was going to just die of laughter, that poor woman must have chewed a hole the size of Cleveland in her cheek to keep from laughing at the farting bridesmaid. I am pretty sure she had thought she had seen it all in years of wedding work. So much for savoring that moment.

She managed to stop floating audible air biscuits long enough for me to be married (or the vanilla scented unity candle served more than one purpose)!"

Lesson of the story: Make sure you're wedding site is fart friendly!

Keep your sense of humor!

Ya know, we are going to have to see this herring too....

OK, the breakfast bug has just hit in our house. It's a brief break in the action right now, but I have the waffel batter mixed and the iron heating up, the sausages are sitting in a pan waiting, grits, eggs and toast.

Just love doing the big breakast thing sometimes. May as well make a big mess right now before I get the house clean rather than after.

Off to cook...

Lesson of the story: Make sure you're wedding site is fart friendly!

Eeew....just eew! :yuck:

Hey Luce - how about I come down to your house this morning, we get your house done, then in the afternoon, we come up here and do mine. I can whoop up a nice crock of clam chowder, bake some bread and we can have dinner after.

*kicks teleporter* The plan will be perfect, if I can get this thing to work

Well, I STILL haven't cleaned. I left soon after my post and went to Wally world. I now have 3 projects set to do today ...I'm making curtains, 2 purple satin pirate shirts, and my favors. LOL! Oh and then I got a wild hair and decided to make some lo-carb cheesecake... :yum: Oh the house smells fabulous!!!

I sure wish you'd get that teleporter fixed....I'm so bored here in KY. :? But hold the clam chowder... :yuck: Even thought I grew up in Cape Cod, I just can't do clam chowder (or just about any other seafood) LOL!

Blame it on Spring Fever - Blame it on the impending New Moon - Blame it on the quickly approaching Equinox - Blame it on Cabin Fever (or post event glow) - or even Blame it on the celebrations in honor of the ever illustrious Eros.. or even the simply fact that I am in a Blackmore's Night mood - but I am finding today a tranquile and relaxing - titillating, and even impassioned day.. as I have sat quietly embroidering my personal device and even caught a nice relaxing nap (by candle light) today (unusual for me) ...

So with that in mind, please allow me to satisfy the muses inspiration of the day - and share with all of thee - these lyrics.. (nice upbeat tune)

Under a Violet Moon

Dancing to the feel of the drum
Leave this world behind
We'll have a drink and toast to ourselves
Under a Violet Moon
Tudor Rose with her hair in curls
Will make you turn and stare
Try to steal a kiss at the bridge
Under a Violet Moon
Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We're going back to a time we knew
Under a Violet Moon
Cheers to the Knights and days of old
the beggars and the thieves
living in an enchanted wood
Under a Violet Moon
Fortuneteller what do you see
Future in a card
Share your secrets, tell them to me
Under a Violet Moon
Close your eyes and lose yourself
In a medieval mood
Taste the treasures and sing the tunes
Under a Violet Moon
Tis my delight on a shiny night
The season of the year
To keep the lanterns burning bright
Under a Violet Moon
