There is a children's show on PBS called "Maya and Miguel" and I happened to catch the them song this morning. I was vaguely bothered by it but am I reading to much into it (cause I'm in one of "those" moods) or does it imply that he's guy and has the brains and she the flighty emotional girl that never thinks things through? And if so, why on earth would PBS fall into that stereotype

It's Maya and Miguel!
What they will do next you never can tell
Brother and Sister, and Best Friends as Well
With each Misadventure they're put to the test
Working together is what they do best
Helping their family and friends, that's the start
He leads with his head, and she follows her heart

It's Maya, (it's maya) and Miguel (miguel) What they will do next you never can tell It's Maya, (it's maya) and Miguel (miguel) Brother and Sister, and Best Friends as Well

Brother and Sister, Maya and Miguel!

I've seen it - she's a flake.

BUT, she's also incredibly compassionate and involved.
He's more practical, but also a bit more standoff-ish.

It's a bit of the stereotype, true, but I think it's handled well
