I also have to thank Katie Macalister for introducing me to the Guild. I never knew it existed until I also read "Hard Day's Knight". I've been going to Faire for about 12 years now in Sterling NY. But I do think some wenches got a little confused. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you go to the Sterling Ren Faire in upstate NY, not NYRF which is held in Sterling Forrest Tuxedo NY.

I've heard nothing but raves about Sterling but unfortunately have not been. If you ever head down our way to NYRF we'd love to have you!... and any wandering Rogues you'd care to bring with you. :lol:

I'm going to try to clear up some confusion. The faire I have been going to for the last 12 years is in STERLING NY, on the southeast end of Lake Ontario, near Oswego.
They will begin their 29th year this coming July 2005. Hope to see many of you there. HUZZAH :D

Yes many folks make the mistake because NYRF is held at Sterling (the ski "resort") Forest....

Where as the Sterling Renaissance faire (also called New York Ren Faire sometimes mistakenly) is truly upstate NY and they are confused many many times over!!!

So anyway! Welcome to the Board!!! For the upstate buxom wench I am buxoming up yer karma!!!!
Have fun on here and thanks to KatieMac as well, she seems to be our best single recruiting force for spreading the wenchly word about the country!!!

I think many of us here have had the same ephipany as you - we knew we were different. We knew we were unique. We knew we didn't fit any of the standard molds.
Then one fortuitous day - we discovered the IWG and we had a name and a group with whom to identify who we are ... WENCHES.

I'd called myself a wench for many years - but when I found the IWG I was thrilled. There are more like me ... And we even have a pin and a number :lol:
