Yes, it's true! Your favorite Girl Scout cookies says something about your personality!
Trefoils: You thrive under pressure. Shortbread lovers are self-confident, organized go-getters who are energized by stress; the no-frills crunch of Trefoils appeal to your assertive nature.
Thin Mints: You’re easygoing. Those who favor bold flavors like mint are easygoing types. You’re the one at home who doesn’t feel the need to make waves, and the one your co-workers find the most agreeable.
Samoas : You’re brainy. Fond of this comparatively “complex” cookie with its many textures and flavors? You’re smart and focused. And since you set high standards for yourself, people are impressed by whatever you do!
Do-Si-Dos: You’re a kid at heart. Can’t stop at just one of these wholesome oatmeal-and-peanut-butter combos? You’re a little old-fashioned, with a big appreciation for life’s simpler pleasures. Your home is a place where others always feel welcome.
Tagalongs: You have artistic flair. No matter what project your tackling, your creative streak always shines through. And you don’t like to be distracted---lovers of this cookie can seem shy, but often, you’re just deep in thought!
My favs are the tagalongs! YAY! I'm artistic^^

Hey, this is fun. I had forgotten about the fact that those names are
different from one part of the country to another. I haven't
heard those names for those particular cookies since I lived in
Springfield, Virginia. I think Samoas, Trefoils, Tagalongs, and
Do-Si-Dos have different names in the mid and upper mid -west.

Why is that I wonder? :stunned: It's very confusing, down here in Houston Trefoils are called Classic Shortbread, Samoas are called Caramel Delights, Do-Si-Dos are Peanut butter sandwichs, I think Tag alongs are Peanut Butter Patties, or are they the Lemon Pastry Creams? Ah :augh: It's so confusing...when we use to do cookie booths sometimes we had people ask if we had Semoas or Do-Si-Dos, and us poor little girls had no clue what they were talking about!

Now that is really strange. I'm only 200 miles from you & we have the Trefoils, Samoas, Do-Si-Dos, Tagalongs etc... Have't ever seen different names for the cookies here, then again I haven't been any further North than Austin during cookie season.

Strangely enough, you have both kind of girl scout cookies where I live (literally within 5 miles of each other.) Although it's a bit confusing when I'm trying to decide what I'm going to buy, in the end, it just means I get to eat twice as much! I love girl scout cookies!

I'm with all of y'all about the girl scout cookies. I bought five boxes this year. No I haven't eaten them all. Yet. I'm also so not the description of thin mints, and they are my fav cookie. Heck I bought three boxes of the things :D

I had a problem -
about 4 years ago I was trying to help a friends daughter out - - so I bought 14 boxes of thin mints and put them in the freezer - that way I could have a box a month and a box for carry over just in case the delivery date changed and I had a box to make my brownies with at Christmas time. (basically I ground the thin mints up to "dust" and add them to the brownie mix - most people like the taste but they can't figure out how I got a box mix to taste minty

Washington DC Council (this year) has:
Lemon Coolers ("reduced fat" vanilla cookies with "zesty lemon chips" covered in powered sugar)
Do-Si-Dos - PB sandwich cookie
Thin Mints - no explanation needed
Double Dutch - a dark choc cookies with semi-sweet and creamy milk choc chips - its a crunchy cookie and I don't htink it tastes as good as it sounds like it should
Samoas - again no explanation needed
Trefoils - plain shortbread
Tagalongs - a plain cookie of some sort with a layer of creamy PB and covered in choc
All Abouts - shortbread cookie with choc covered bottom, with a pithy GS is all about ... saying on the top (ex.: Girl Scouting is all about Values)
I've been in Girl Scouts as an adult for 13 years and I AM SICK OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. :D

How can you say that? joking :D
Even though I've been in girl scouts for 14 years, I never get tired of the cookies manly because they only come around once a year, but I sure as heck got sick of selling them!
I know they changed some of the names a few years ago, cause I went to buy samoas and they had carmel delights. Now they are back to samoas. I also buy extra boxes and put them in the freezer, they freeze really well. We just had a troop of girls selling cookies at our mall last weekend so I grabbed another 2 boxes!!!!!

Once a year, per council.
I work in an office where we have people living in three or four different councils. That means cookies three or four times a year. Just got the latest batch today. And promptly ate them. :faint:

This is about the time where all the troop are at every Wal-Mart. *looks at the 20+ boxes in her room* I really think I need to stop buying cookies at every store I visit :D
