Mousy Wench

Val, the Book Wench showed me the light (or the www. to this board) I've been lurking a few days and decided to register, now if I can muster up the nerve to tell rlh that I am a wench in a shy girls costume I could take it a few steps further
so, Hi, I'm Candie, a mom of 2 in Central Texas. Never have been able to talk hubby into a renfaire but am hoping to this coming spring. I am in the middle of my first Katie Mac book (Hard Days Knight) and it is making me want to experience it even more!
Glad to be here...

Hello to both of you! Welcome to the Guild! :D
Candie, don't worry about being a shy Wench - something we tell the new lasses in our Local is that Wenches come in all shapes, sizes and attitudes. You don't have to 'make' yourself be bawdy because it's someone elses idea of what a 'wench' is. Be yourself, have fun. 'Cause that's what this Guild is all about.
Rosetta, hi and howdy! I have made hubby come to faire too, but he wanted to leave in about an hour. Now my daughter and I go for half the day and he can stay home and relax. However, never underestimate the power of a 6 year old on her Daddy. Herself has already whooped a 'Daddy, will you come to the Renaissance and see me on the Dragon Swings.' That, has so far, elicited a "We will see." :D

Don't worry about being shy! A few years down the road you'll find yourself saying "But I'm shy" and having everyone around burst out laughing at the idea that you are shy. It's happened to me. Being a wench has really helped me meet people and become comfortable in my own skin, besides being a incredible amount of fun!

I am fortuante, my hubby, the rogue he is, is like me. When we met, the first thing out of our mouths, was we wanted a renaissance wedding one day. He has been every year to the tx ren fest and so had I. Heck, we probably passed each other at one time and didnt know it before we met. But he has a suit of leather armor he wears, and this will be my first year with my wench costume. I had been wearing chain male. But he is as addicted to the ren fest as I, and we plan on attending scarby april 9, 10th, for our one year wedding anniversary, so if any of you wenches will be there also, let me know, would love to meet you.
