I love the muppets!
It's time for the Muppet show again
THE Muppets are set to make a grand re-entrance to the world stage.
Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends will be re-launched back into society in every way possible - on the big screen, small screen, mobile phones, theatres and theme parks.
Since being bought by Disney last April, the floppy-haired puppets have been declared a "world class brand franchise" being controlled by Disney subsidiary The Muppets Holding Company.
The first new glimpse of the gang will come in the form of The Muppets’ Wonderful Wizard of Oz - a feature length film starring Quentin Tarantino as himself, singer Ashanti and actress Queen Latifah.
The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York this week and will be shown in the UK later this year.
Disney bought the Muppets franchise from the Jim Henson Company for a reputed £30 million. Spin-offs including a new television series, website and mobile ring tones are all in the pipeline for the furry friends, who have rarely been seen since their heyday in the 1970s and 80s.
